Re: Rusty Young (Poco) dies

When Poco started in 1969 Rusty Young was the pedal steel player. I'm not sure how involved he was in the harmonies? As time went on and band members left, (Jim Messina and Ritchie Furay) he began to sing leads on some songs, (Us, Downfall.) He wrote and sang Crazy Love which was Poco's biggest it i...

Re: Rusty Young (Poco) dies

Rusty Young was the only constant member of That band. Two of the Eagles Bassists , Timothy Schmidt and Randy Meisner, came From Poco, (so in a way Poco was like a Minor League farm system for the Eagles.) Good Feeling To Know is a great song that you really don't hear anymore.

Re: Old TV and Movie Cliches

A sketchy character is introduced by having them pull up in a car listening to Death Metal, (obviously this cliche is newer.)

Re: Songs with Funny Titles(non country)

When I saw the Toto Cohelo video I first thought "wow, The Spice Girls have really aged badly!." (I'm kidding. I remember that video from the 80's along with Hayzie Fantazie and the Belle Stars.)

Re: Songs with Funny Titles(non country)

Rhett Forrester was the second lead singer of Riot, (from 1982 to 1984.) I hate to be a Debbie Downer but he was murdered in an attempted car jacking in Atlanta in 1994, (I know this thread was supposed to be funny.)

We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off-Jermaine Stewart

Since Jermaine Stewart died of AIDS that song is sadly ironic, (it's also a good 80's tune.)

Re: Songs with Funny Titles(non country)

Blue Oyster Cult/ 7 Screaming Dizbusters - She's A Beautiful As A Foot Somebody once recorded a song called Molly Hatchet Drummer. I want to say Guided By Voices but I'm not sure. When I tried to do a search I got a list of deceased band members. (All of the original members are dead, so if you go s...

Re: New music show with Don Was and Ann Delisi is headed to WDET Friday nights

I heard an add for it about a hour and a half ago during This Island Earth, (world music program, a lot of Ska and Reggae.) More Ann Delisi is a good for Detroit radio.

Re: Get Off The Stage !!!

Physically this might not make sense, but I once read a article about an Iggy Pop concert in the 70's where a car battery was thrown at him, (yeah I know it sounds dodgy.) I once heard my brothers friend talk about a concert where Kix Opened for The Ramones. He said they threw copies of their record...

The New Riders Of The Purple Sage do a really good cover of that song.

There's also Maria from West Side Story.

Get Off The Stage !!!

Has anyone out there ever seen an opening act get booed of the stage. I've never seen it but I've heard a few stories, (The Clash opening for Who at the Silverdome for example.)

Re: NBC Thursdays

[quote=thekman post_id=663319 time=1616805883 user_id=146] I love Superstore, but even though it had good ratings, for the life of me I could never find another actual person that watched the show. Well now you found two. There are plans for a spin off featuring Cheyenne and her husband Bo, (or Beau...
