Re: WSBX 94.5 On The Air
I remember back when it was on 94.3. My grandparents lived off N. Old Mackinaw. About a mile from the tower. Even at 3,000 watts, didn't take much for the signal to get static during storms.

Re: WEYI hubbing weather from WWMT?
Damn shame, really. Sinclair made it look quite promising when it bought the station 10 years ago.

Re: WEYI hubbing weather from WWMT?
Yes, I looked up the posting. Still doesn't answer the question. Unless they're eliminating the "Chief" title (and perhaps Erik is leaving). I heard somewhere else a while back that some stations are doing that now, just to refrain from increase in expense/salary for the title.

WEYI hubbing weather from WWMT?
Is Erik working part-time at WEYI? The last few times I've tuned in over the past month or so someone from WWMT taped the weather.

I really like Ahmad. He is a very good presenter, and knows his stuff. I consider him "Gary England" of Michigan.

Chris is doing a decent job on 5, but he isn't alone. Erik doesn't have the greatest delivery, and could really use help.

No, it's been a little while since I've watched 5's newscast. Just throwing out a thought.

Re: Investigate TV on 5
WNEM *could* do what 9&10 does with "The Four" (that name still drives me up a wall....) and just make it more of an entertainment news show.

Re: Northern Michigan dual TV channel ID
The fun thing in the analog days living in Cheboygan, you didn't need an antenna to pick up WTOM. Came in relatively clear within two miles line-of-sight. I can agree, MW. Having the site closer to Petoskey would be better. Frankly, I never understood why Les didn't do that in '59. Unless it had to ...

I didn't have any knowledge of that. Wonder how I missed it.
Please share if you do find a picture of the WTOM set. I've been looking off and on for years.

Re: Northern Michigan dual TV channel ID
WTOM still exists, but in the digital era, its signal no longer reaches SSM. It now uses a subchannel of WGTQ to accomplish this. Likewise, WGTU also feeds WPBN on a subchannel, and both WPBN and WTOM do the same feeding WGTU / WGTQ. I've often wondered though, (I have not looked up the countour ma...
