Re: Console television sets

And the irony of my post is: having to use Svetlana tubes in a receiver marked with Conelrad frequencies. For those of you who have never heard of Conelrad, Google is your friend.

Re: Console television sets

And your point is BMW? The set I referred to was obviously an 80’s possibly early 90’s console. The 60’s Curtis-Mathes I referred to is not pictured, although I’m watching it right now. I don’t know what you actually know about CRT’s, but you can only rejuvenate them so many times before you have to...

Re: WLLZ

Cruising 92.9 is OK. They have a limited playlist, if you hear it in the morning you’ll here it in the afternoon next day. They still beat the pants off 94.9 WMMQ who has half the playlist. I can no longer stand take the money and run, which is apparently the only song Steve Miller ever did. Trust m...

Re: Console television sets

It is possible to retrofit a console with a new TV, the one pictured would be a perfect candidate.
I have my Mom's old Curtis-Mathes from the 60's still, it's got a 46" HDTV in it now.
Keep it polished and everyone asks where I got it from.

Re: WLLZ

I just added an antenna for my home stereo, it's just sitting in the yard. I was stunned to hear WLLZ full quieting, I really shouldn't get it at all. Comparing it to anything in the Lansing/Jackson market it is miles above. I wish we had better radio out here, I'm jealous of what you still have in ...

Re: Pirate on 87.9 Grand Rapids

"For those that don't click through, their map shows no locations in Michigan that they acted upon from late 2012 to mid-2020." Last one I knew of was a guy parked on 87.7 down by North Adams, this was around 2009. I had to talk the team to the address, he went off the air, and never returned. Boy w...

This just in, they are predicting a “triple dip La Nena”.
I’m going to stock up on paper towels too.

Re: 10 more days of Indian summer upcoming.

My observation is we normally have a warm break for the first week of deer season, then the snow breaks out. However, mlive says we have a “triple dip” El Niño coming this year, whatever that means. Think I’ll start stockpiling toilet paper.
