98.7 Escanaba

While watching CW5/ABC10 news tonight, they did a story on Gift 106.1. If you look at the console, where the jock was being interviewed, you see "Escanaba's Good Time Oldies - GTO 98.7" Is this on?

97.5 Chicago question

97.5 W248BB. http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/patg?id=W248BB-FX
Would it make sense for CBS Chicago to buy/lease this? I know it wouldn't be cheap.
Very, very good city grade coverage. Then, they (CBS) could use the 105.9 for something else.
Better dial position. Thoughts?

Re: 106.3 in Esky

If it means anything WMXG was testing today (Nov 2 '15) and I noted them while near Iron Mountain and along US Highway 8, Songs played by Stones, Aerosmith, Train, Crosby Still Nash & Young. Sweepers were played with "Mix 106" slogan always including full legal id's. Don't know if they're doiing thi...

Re: New Marquette radio stations....

106.1 is on with Christmas music. 106.1 the Gift. IDs as WFXD-HD4 Marquette.

I honestly wish this was used for more than this.

Thank you Turkeytop.

Are the currency exchanges at the border? A bank?

Pardon my ignorance on the issue, but I have been to your country and will be back! I might get good at this!

Re: 24 hour programming question. AM radio

JRY seemed to answer the question well. I'm a dx'er. so a little familiar with hours of operation, and what is expected. I was just wondering now vs. years ago, if with a down turn in sales, no 3rd shift listening, sprawling areas, much more competition than decades ago.... if a station that wanted ...

Re: Observations From My Trip To Florida

What I liked when in Canada was the signage that said something like "Stop Fatigue: Rest" or something similar. So, I would stretch the legs, go to A&W, get gas or similar vs always trying to break a speed record.

Re: 24 hour programming question. AM radio

Thank you for answering the question.
Me, being a radio geek will always listen to the station on 1400, 20 miles away. Music on AM!
Still, it's nice it is there. Even at 3am!
Thank you again!

24 hour programming question. AM radio

Does a station on 1230, 1240, 1340, 1400, 1450 or 1490 with 1000 watts or less, need to broadcast 24/7? The station that drops from 5000 watts to 213 watts at sunset need to be 24/7? I am talking of small town radio. Hypothetical: the station has horrible coverage (unless in North Dakota, etc), gett...

Re: CANADA: Enhanced check stops

Well, I went to Canada 2 times since I posted the original question. No problems. "Where are you going?" "Purpose?" "When was the last time you were in Canada?" "Do you have anything to declare?" I bought 7 things at duty free and "what are they?" I rattled off. "welcome to the USA." That was it. Po...
