Re: Warren Pierce moved to WDFN 1130 eff Sat 2/1/20

What's the show all about? I hope its not an infomercial! Also, I hope Hy Levinson and the gang welcomed him back to the big 11-3-0, after all these years.

I liked her blue dress from last year's State of the State Address, better! Ooh-la-la!

Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit

It's a shame that the big radio conglomerates are so scared to try really bizarre station format changes like they did 40 years ago when there was a ton of competition. What I'm getting at is that WJR's pathetic 1.6 share tells me that Cumulus has nothing to lose by blowing-up the station format an...

BTW, does Maz still work for Szott Ford? If he does, I'd like to stop by and meet him.

Re: What happened to Maz on the DMP?

I've always was a big fan of Drew & Mike, all through the RIF days. And, even followed them to 105.1. I was listening to the podcast religiously, but I became bored. It's too long, and now, I understand they've gotten rid of Maz. Now, I probably won't listen at all!

Did Paul W. Smith work at VMO before WSPD Toledo?
I remember Paul W. at WCWA, weekends. Horrible music mix, I thought it was formatted by what's next in the 45 carousel.

Re: What happened to Maz on the DMP?

I love Maz on the DMP. His 60s references, pop culture stuff, etc., are a hoot. He's the perfect fall guy when things go wrong. Drew should bring him back. He's the perfect comic foil.

Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit

The "Voice of Monroe" WVMO, 98.3 has some nice adult EZ music in the 70's until the Tower 98 format landed there in the early 80's. Ha Ha! My memories of V-Mo was format by train wreck. They played whatever was next in the record bin. Although, I didn't listen very often, and sometimes might have a...

Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit

We got our first AM/FM radio in about 1971. I found it curbside a few doors down, its owner having thrown it out. It was a Lloyd's. We took it to Metry Sound on Harper Avenue, where the repairman replaced two tubes to bring it back to life. Just months later, Metry Sound closed shop. At that time, ...

Re: WSB Atlanta

750 will stay as-is and when AM radio becomes widely unavailable in newer cars, they'll basically sell the station for scrap value. That's my prediction. Do you really believe AM radio in cars is going out? I'm not asking that as a challenge to you. It's just the first time I've ever heard that pre...

Re: WCCO Drops CBS Newscasts

Back in the day, WJR was Detroit's long time CBS affiliate until about 1976. They used to air their own newscasts throughout the day, except for key hours, like 8am, 6pm, &pm, etc., and air CBS in the other dayparts. WJR was never a CBS O & O, but a key affiliate. CBS personnel would make regular ap...
