Re: "COVID-19 is racist!"

I think I saw in Kent County that over half of all of its COVID-19 cases are among minorities.

Re: Synergy is a mess

Is this why z93 in mason county is choppy and unlistenable? As before when 92.7 was on 93.1,z93 came is clear as day. In the Ludington area, 89.1 seems to be a sloppy mess of W224CA (WKLA (AM)'s translator) and WKLA-FM. 96.3 - 92.7 = 3.6 92.7 - 3.6 = 89.1 Oddly, 99.9 (which is 96.3 + 3.6) has no is...

Arizona, Texas and Florida have nearly half of all COVID cases today. Three cheers to these Republican Losers.
Those three plus California had 52% of all American cases yesterday

Re: US Shut Off from the World

For those of you with the means to travel, you should increasingly become aware that most First World countries have band travel for US citizens. With the longest free border between two countries, losing our relationship with Canada will have an enormous impact on Michigan. People crying about job...

Re: Whitmer Misses The Mark

Stopped into a northern Michigan Walmart over the weekend. A good 80% of the shoppers were going mask free. Except in the check-out lines, few were practicing social distancing. Where at? On my last trip to Meijer in Manistee (on July 3rd), I would guess 75-80% of shoppers were wearing masks. I did...

Re: Whitler says might have to "dial back"

I saw an article that Whitmer might consider closing hair salons again. I think that's more of a scare tactic. Even in states where restrictions have been put back into place, hair and nail salons have been allowed to remain open (including AZ, CA, FL, TX, and other states seeing big spikes). Michig...

Lots of changes in UP radio. Looks like MediaBrew has also launched 106.1 as soft oldies. 106.1 The Sound was formerly "The Gift". Website is here: 1061TheSound.com.
That launched a few months ago. I've heard that translator a couple of times in Manistee!

96.3 - 92.7 = 3.6
92.7 - 3.6 = 89.1

Oddly, 99.9 (which is 96.3 + 3.6) has no issues, and neither does 101.1 (98.7 + (98.7 - 96.3)) or 93.9 (98.7 - (98.7 - 96.3)).

Re: Synergy is a mess

97.7 is back off. When it was on this past weekend, it was spilling heavily onto 97.5 and 97.9, much more than 101.5 WMTE (which actually runs more power than WMLQ, but at a lower HAAT) on my radios. 97.7 in Manistee is currently Rewind 97-7 from Sturgeon Bay. Also, 97.5 WKLT puts a decent signal in...

Re: Roy H Selling Off?

What station did he own in Escanaba? During his last Northern Michigan docket proposal (which would have moved 99.3 [then WOUF] to the Kalkaska tower used by WPBN/WGTU/WCMV, with WATZ moving to 101.5, WMJZ moving to 97.1, and a few new drop-ins on 99.1 (Alpena and Au Gres) and 99.5 (Shelby)), WGLQ w...

Re: Random political predictions for 2020

This presidential election can go one of many different ways. 1. The map doesn't change much if at all from 2016 2. Biden wins in a landslide (flipping most of the swing states and maybe even flipping Ohio and Texas) 3. A 269-269 tie (which is possible if Biden flips AZ, MI, and WI and Trump holds o...

From Manistee, MI (assuming all stations are on the air at full licensed power, italicized stations are currently off, not all of these can be received 100% of the time but these are the most common on each frequency): 88.1 - WHID Green Bay, WI 88.3 - WSMZ Crystal Valley, MI or WTCY Greilickville, M...

He also has a place at the Crystal Downs Club (at least he used to). He lives in Flower Mound Texas too. In case we all forgot, most of the money comes from his wife. He sold some stations in Texas back in the 90s for millions after moving them closer to major cities (92.1 in Houston/Galveston and ...

$2 million is a lot for a stick that doesn't cover a lot of people. KTWL is a Class C3 located between Houston and Bryan/College Station. Its 60dBu includes the smallish cities of Hempstead and Navasota, as well as the far northwest suburbs of Houston (Magnolia, Lake Conroe, Montgomery). There's a t...
