Re: CMU Sells Flint WCMZ-TV In FCC Spectrum Auction

Didn't CMU pick up 28 for cheap?

Re: CMU Sells Flint WCMZ-TV In FCC Spectrum Auction

If they were to dump (or move) a station in the auction, I thought WCMW would either go silent or move to VHF Low.

Re: Switching to/from another station's signal for network s

WJRT utilized American Microwave to distribute their feed to areas of the northeast LP where there was no ABC affiliate available. I remember them being on the Mackinaw City cable lineup as late as 1977-78. WKAR-TV also used them to reach cable systems as far north as Alpena in the days before CMU ...

Re: WTOL NFL game choices

Actually the blackout radius was 75 miles. The WJIM transmitter was barely within the 75-mile radius of Tiger Stadium (if their transmitter was already in Okemos at the time). Also, this meant that WTOL still would've been within the 75-mile zone once they moved to the Silverdome. Something else to...

Re: LMFAO at Kmart!!!!

Was surprised to see the Sears at Woodland Mall in G.R. on the closing list. Years ago, that used to be a very busy store! It has a big footprint (300,000 sq. feet) and is one of only two Sears locations in Kent County. The sole survivor will be the much smaller Sears store located at Rivertown Cro...

Re: Why is RDS so inconsistent?

There even seems to be variances within groups. 98.1 has had RDS for quite a while now, while sister station 95.5 does not have it (and has never had it as far as I know).

Re: Grayling Rocker

It's amazing that a guy out of Grayling can run a radio station far better than that hole-digging, stapler-hurling, station-silencing dweeb out of Traverse City. Hell, even Cumuless or iFart could run a station better than that dweeb! A little surprised Uncle Charlie hasn't taken some licenses away...

Re: Prediction: Trump will win the general election.

I think it will end up being a four way race between Trump, Clinton, Johnson (Libertarian), and Stein (Green). Nobody will get to 50% of the popular vote (i.e. 2000, where Nader swung Florida (and probably other states) in favor of Bush)

Re: Election Shoot Out (with Third Party)

Bold prediction: Neither Hillary nor Trump get 50% of the popular vote, with either Gary Johnson or Jill Stein playing big roles in swing states

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations

WSPD-TV (precursor of WTVG) did not air the original SNL's from 75-79; a 'summary show' was the first time it was broadcast in Toledo. Had to rely on the rare times that Buckeye remembered to switch the CH4 feed from WSPD to WDIV (or was it that yet?). WNEM in Saginaw also didn't carry SNL until af...

I've seen a lot of political ads, mostly in favor of Rubio, Kasich, Clinton, or Sanders

Re: Who could you support for President?

My order would be: 1. Rubio 2. Kasich (bummed his numbers aren't higher) 3. Cruz 4. Carson (his numbers have imploded recently) 5. Jeb 6. Trump (he's saying the right stuff, but he's coming off wrong) All six of these (even Trump) are light years ahead of Clinton and Sanders. Sent from my iPhone usi...
