Re: Regis dies at 88

I didn't realize until yesterday that Regis was older than Elizabeth Taylor by about six months (I looked up Elizabeth Taylor's birthday after a Celebrity Jeopardy episode with Regis aired last night and there was a clue that mentioned her)

Re: The ignorance and arrogance of closing on Thanksgiving

I wonder if Meijer will be closed on Thanksgiving this year. They were open on Easter, but closed early (but Easter was during the worst of the pandemic).

Re: Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) dies

Fantastic artist he was! He will be missed. He's been inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of fame right? I really hope he was and didn't get the Bob Welch treatment. Bob brought the Mac into the mainstream pop market. The 1970-74 era of Mac was the best. He was the perfect replacement for Spencer (o...

Re: Nielsen audio round-up - #'s published on July 21

It's odd that iHeart pays for WMRR to be a subscriber in Grand Rapids, but not for WOOD or WSNX in Muskegon (both of which are licensed to Muskegon; it's doubly odd that WBFX and WSRW, who both have so-so signals in Muskegon, are Muskegon subscribers)

Re: A conversation with tolling proponent Baruch Feigenbaum

I'd be fine with some toll roads if they were exclusively transponder and toll-by-plate AND if at least part of the tolls went to help upgrades on that specific road (for example, US-23 and I-94 are in dire need of upgrades in SE Michigan)

Yet WCPZ is still Mix 102.7. Before they went to WMTX, was WCPZ Z102.7 or Z103?

WMIC AM 660, I love the obituaries they do after the 6PM news everyday.
93.9 WDOR airs death notices a couple of times per day. And they're a 77kW FM station!

Re: I'm ready to predict the outcome of the 2020 election.

There are three 269-269 outcomes that I feel are possible. Scenario #1 has Biden flipping AZ, MI, and WI with Trump holding on to FL, GA, NC, NE-2, OH, PA, and TX. Scenario #2 has Biden flipping AZ, FL, and NE-2 and Trump flipping NH while holding on to GA, MI, NC, OH, PA, TX, and WI Scenario #3 has...

Re: Glorified babysitters scared to return to work

There are some (admittedly a very small percentage) that want schools completely out until fall 2021 (with kids entering the grade they were scheduled to enter this fall in the fall of 2021).

Re: The "New" Mike Valenti Show on 97.1

In college, players can easily change around class schedules so they can stay an extra semester (fall 2021) if they're on track to graduate this school year and aren't potential NFL players. If there is no season in the fall, I could see the existing spring ball season be slightly expanded (more pra...

Re: WSRJ Sold

Besides 106.7 (either alone or in a simulcast with 96.7), the only other possibility for a viable competitor in Traverse City would be a 101.9/92.5 combo, although I feel one or both of those frequencies will either have their license cancelled or go noncommercial. In the unlikely event of the FCC c...

Re: WSRJ Sold

Looks like Northern Broadcast has sold WSRJ 105.5 to non-commercial Good News Media: $350,000 of which $145,000 is a gift. https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101818915&formid=314&fac_num=82684 Probably a simulcast of either Fuel FM (which is o...

Re: US Shut Off from the World

On another forum I am on, there is a thread about a dystopian world in which Canada completely cuts off relations with the US. Realistically, if that were to happen, the US would likely already be in the process of splitting up

As of today the 1680 AM remains off the air and website streaming's off. 102.5 FM translator's on the air and primarily airing music, with a local call-in talk show weekday afternoons (Tyrone Bynum).
So basically a revival of Tyrone Bynum's format on 640 AM many years ago
