Re: 94.5 The Q - new format is Adult Album Alternative

So, the Q has been around for just over two months and they don't even have 1,000 FB likes yet. Posts from the station seeking to engage the listeners in discussion sometimes have two comments, one comment, or even no comments at all! I have a feeling this station is going to prove to be a ratings ...

Re: WMOM shuts down

From a DXing perspective, it is nice because the only other 102.7 I have ever received is WRVM. There are several possible options on who I feel could get their hands on this frequency: Midwestern (would likely become a simulcast of Z93 or NewsTalk 580 [97.7/98.7 and 580 don't share any talk shows A...

Re: Winter P2 Arbitrends (Updated: 03-27-19)Grand Rapids

:razz I purposely posted here figuring you were the one most likely to know this detail. Thanks! I've been working on typing out my Lake Huron and Lake Michigan scans (the only two of the five lakes remaining and Huron is done now). WBCT is basically... omnipresent. It's just in nearly every scan. ...

Re: TV Guide

I remember TV Guide keeping listings for WKBD into the 2000s in both the Northern Michigan and Northern Wisconsin TV Guides (oddly, the Northern Wisconsin edition never had WGKI/WFQX in their guides despite that TV Guide being the TV guide for the UP outside of the eastern three counties and WGKI/W...

AM: 850 KOA Denver, CO or 870 WWL New Orleans, LA
FM Tropo: 102.3 KRNY Kearney, NE and 105.9 KQKY Kearney, NE (684 miles, both on the same tower; I've had KRNY twice and KQKY once)

Re: Bell wants to shut down more CTV transmitters

If CJOH-6, CKCO-3, and CKNX were in the States, they would likely be fully separate stations with their own news departments (Canadian media collusion is extreme; the US equivalent of Bell would be if one of the Big Three, Comcast, Sinclair, AT&T, DirecTV, and iHeartMedia were all controlled by the ...

Why Is It I Always Think This Thread Is About WLS-TV When I See The Title? I keep thinking they found Bob Balaban's first childhood screen test amongst the old films. Yes. The Channel 11 Allotment. It got kicked around for decades before signing on. So late that the WBKB-TV call letters were availa...

Wondering if any of those stations will move Wheel and Jeopardy to a subchannel. Can't watch them on WDIV in the Toledo area because WTOL has asserted Synd-Ex rights, so Buckeye Broadband blocks WDIV in Toledo during those shows.
I take it no pre-emption exception

Re: 96.3 wkla format tweak

Their audio sounds horrific. My guess is they'd be dead last among local FM stations. I bet even 101.5 - despite all its format changes in recent years - would outperform them. Here is how I feel the order would go (Lake/Manistee/Mason/Oceana): 1. WMOM 2. WTCM (FM) [#1 pretty much by default in Lak...

Re: 96.3 wkla format tweak

The major downgrade they took when moving from 106.3 to 96.3 doesn't help. It all but eliminated their signal in Manistee County (96.3 is short-spaced to the 96.3s in Marinette and Petoskey). I still think 98.7 and 96.3 need to swap formats (98.7 is 6kW A while 96.3 is 3kW A from the same tower). If...

101.9 or 106.7 would be the best signals for this type of format, IMO.
Independently of 101.9 or 106.7/105.5, I think 94.9 in Scottville should go classic country. TCM kills it even in its backyard

I did hear a "WTNR Greenville-Grand Rapids" LID on 107.3 when I was in Grand Rapids this past week
