It's amazing Dixon ever got another job

I think both PDs were on a fool's errand in that job. Between Buzz, and Steve Chessare, I seriously doubt they were given much latitude to do anything.

Supertalk 1570, WWCK

This pitiful station has only 300 followers on Facebook, and posts are quite rare. Very little local content. Is anyone listening anymore? In certain markets, Cumulus seems to be basically running on fumes.

Re: Eric Clapton

WCSX should be playing Cocaine, but I'm gonna assume they would rather play one of the 3 I mentioned. One I really miss hearing is "After Midnight" When I worked in Lansing 35 years ago, MMQ played "The Core" off Slowhand on a regular basis. Great song, but a long one. Wouldn't mind hearing it on W...

stopnswop isn't RadioKev/Mark/Chuck. stopnswop actually knows how to structure a sentence, and uses proper punctuation.

Re: Deep Cuts From More Contemporary Artists

The Drivin' & Cryin' and Brother Cane songs were both high charting album tracks. Even Z-Rock played those songs. This was near "the end" of AOR stations as we once knew them.

Re: WCSX

Last time I tuned past WCSX, (probably a couple of months or so ago) they were playing "Still the One" by Orleans. :x That sound like something they'd play on their Sunday Morning Over Easy Program. About a week ago I heard Brewer And Shipley's One Toke Over The Line. A lot of stuff like that you r...

Re: Mark King / Chuck Davies Leaving for Oregon

New gig, eh? There must be a 7-11 in Portland that needs a new night manager. If it's a slow night, he can call and harass whoever's on the air at KINK. :rollin

Re: 1560 WWYC off the air again

I just see it as futile, to keep 1560am going. CSN has struggled technically to keep it going as of late. I do agree that, in the next 10 years the AM dial will be hollowed out quite a bit. A lot of CSN's stations and translators are in the middle of nowhere. The isolated translator near Deshler, O...

Re: 99.3 WQAN Signal Strength

It's my belief that "conditions" are dragging the 99.3 signal inland on some days. There's no way it's broadcasting from anywhere near Traverse City.

What's playing on 100.1/100.7, if anything? Roy lost his good tower site for that one, by not paying the site rent.

Re: 1560 WWYC off the air again

Let's get some facts straight here: Cumulus swapped 1560 for the flimsy 100.7 translator, some years ago. 1560 lost 1 tower when the Arlington Ave studios were expanded. It hasn't been the same since. Not sure what 1560 is paying for site rent, if anything. 1090 WCAR (WIID) was a moneymaker when Wal...

The same way "Powerline" fit onto the stations it used to run on (it may still, for all I know) - it doesn't. It just runs and people stay tuned or not.
Tom Kent re-started Powerline on his network a couple of years ago.

Re: Mike Duggan files for divorce

Personally, I don't care about the Mayor's personal life. But, Duggan has gotten more done for the city than any other politician has done in my lifetime. And, I have been following Detroit politics for nearly 50 years. His time in office is far from perfect, but look back with what he had to work ...

Re: WLLZ Deep Cut Saturday

Pat Travers NOT in the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame yet. Pat Travers has lived in Orlando for years. I would occasionally see him at WHTQ, when Neil Mirsky was PD there. His music was always far more popular in places like Philly and NYC. He sang lead on "Get the Funk Out" for Extreme, which receive...
