Re: 98.7 The Breeze: Announcers, Jingles, DJ'S, Morning Show, etc. Discussion

My God, why must we always dredge up the same 'ol recycled talent in this market?!!!! Eddie Rogers (WLTI) would be a good fit, but he has a rather lucrative gig at Ford these days. Harper, and a cackling female sidekick? No thanks!

Re: 98.7 Song Requests

I thought I did hear "I dont want to live without you" and " At This Moment" a few days ago. I did hear "Silent Running" played over the digital music service at Kroger... Foreigner's "Inside Information" album was an AC staple in 1988. It's a bit uptempo, but The Breeze could probably get away wit...

Re: 98.7 Song Requests

I absolutely DO NOT want to hear whiny bands like Train, Creed, or Five For Fighting on this station. That kind of mindless pablum was basically the turning point where AC evolved into the crap show that it is today. :x :x :x

Re: 98.7 Song Requests

I pulled out the playlist we used at WFMK 30+ years ago. Here's a few that seem to be missing from The Breeze: Mike & the Mechanics "Silent Running" and "Taken In" Dan Fogelberg "Missing You" and "Language of Love" Alan Parsons Project "Prime Time" and "Eye In the Sky" Little River Band "We Two" For...

Re: Format change at 101.5 Manistee (recreation of lost thread)

I think WHMI in Howell may have them beat in that regard. Their definition of "classic hits" includes "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, which came out in 2013. WHMI knows better than to follow the unwritten rules of the unseen "radio format police". As for WMTE, I wish them luck, but everyone, and do m...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

Doubt we'll hear talent before 2019, but Kevin and Edmonds are no brainers. Delilah tho? NO Delilah would be a trainwreck. For godsakes, keep it local. During my two tours of duty through WFMK, from 7PM to 12M we had "Lights Out" hosted by Jan Russo. Something like that would be amazing, especially...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

The recent hires at AMP should have been reassigned to other positions in the cluster. For example, there's nothing they can do in the WWJ newsroom? There's certainly some dead wood that could be weeded out there. If one of them has a Country background, how about WYCD? 97.1 The Ticket? Thinking bac...

Re: Format change at 101.5 Manistee (recreation of lost thread)

I can't, for the life of me, think of a single reason why anyone would want to purposefully insert themselves into the economic quagmire that is Manistee. Hell, even Duluth would be less cold and inhospitable.

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

Texture wise, the sound is very similar to the long forgotten WCLS, 99.5 Class-FM, minus the 90's & 00 tunes, of course. Joy 97 and WLTI were a couple notches softer. Pure audio wallpaper. However, Eddie Rogers, Peter Carey, or Jim Paolucci would all sound great on The Breeze.

Re: "This is purely a public safety issue."

Plate Cap is right, you would be the first one yelping for a police officer if your car was stolen in this manner. Clearly, you mentally live in your own little bubble, not in the real world like the rest of us. Roseville is in a changing area, where crime is creeping in. Add Warren, Eastpointe, Cen...

Re: "This is purely a public safety issue."

You're both idiots. Auto theft is a big problem in south Macomb County, and the cops are tired of chasing stolen vehicles, where the mental defective owner left the keys in the ignition. In any event, most vehicles today are fuel injected... unless you're driving a rusty 1975 Chrysler St. Regis, or ...

Re: Conservatives awarded hypocrite accolades

Ah yes, Dana Millbank. What a stand-up guy. You should have seen the filthy language he used, trying to reassure his young daughter after the election results came in. Funny, how you brown shirts always throw "billionaires" around as a bad word. How dare these people be successful!
