BTW, I noticed that 92.9's drops use incorrect grammar:
You don't play less commercials....you play fewer commercials. A quantity is different than an amount.
Not that they're the only ones. I've noticed an increased use of this incorrect syntax all over the media in recent years.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through January 10 at 7:30a ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Re: Uneducated resident condemned by Livonia mayor after hanging gay slur signs
I think a “Love is love sign” would increase his property value. Most people associate gay affirming signs with high property values. Go look at The ongoing stereotype is that gay folks are meticulous when it comes to maintaining property, especially the interiors of their homes. Not sure if it's t...

Re: Uneducated resident condemned by Livonia mayor after hanging gay slur signs
Nice that he references the Bible and uses the (misspelled) F-word on the same sign. Did he get his religious education at Westboro Baptist?

Re: WLMI Flipping
It's like the many attempts to take on WITL over the years. Many tried, most died. The one threat I think they took seriously was WVIC's flip to Country as 94.9 The Cat. That ultimately disappeared when WITL's then-parent company bought WVIC and switched the format to Active Rock (Buzz 95). Duke FM ...

Re: Easy 93.3
Translator went up about a week ahead of the format flip and new branding. The Nostalgia format was satellite fed from (I believe) Dial Global. The new format sounds to be coming from in-house. TOH network news has been replaced with local newscasts Monday-Friday daytime. Signal is pretty solid as f...

Re: WLMI Flipping
My guess is it's a spoiler format designed to shave a bit from WMMQ to benefit Q106.

Alternatively, we could be in the same good position Sweden is in if we never had any of the bullshit lockdowns: https://www.newsweek.com/sweden-covid-19-death-rate-lower-spain-italy-uk-despite-never-having-lockdown-1522306 Sweden has previously expressed regret at locking down. Re: Cellphones with FM Chip
My LG Rebel 4 has the FM chip activated with a stock tuner app. It's a little clunky to navigate (no direct frequency input....you have to "turn the dial"), but it gets the job done. I also use the NextRadio app from Google Play as I've used it on prevous phones. It allows for direct frequency entry...

Re: WXLA 1170
WXLA sounded great when they were in stereo. It was shut off when they redid their transmitter site to make way for HD in case it was decided to go that route. My first AM stereo set was a Sony portable that I picked up in the early 80's. Had another Sony receiver installed in my 1986 Chevy Cavalie...

Re: WXLA 1170
I believe (although don't quote me on this) the frequency switch from 1170 to 1180 occurred prior to the format flip from News to Urban Contemporary and call switch from WDTB to WXLA. The latter occurred in the summer of 1984. WXLA was the only Urbab station in the market until WILS-AM 1320 launched...

Re: WXLA 1170
WXLA had a daytime-only ERP of 1KW on 1170. I believe it was a non-directional pattern, but don't quote me on that. The move to 1180 allowed for increased power with a directional pattern, 10KW daytime with 2KW during critical hours as was previously mentioned. When I worked weekends at the station ...
