Re: 2020, Just go away.

We have a 12 year-old Field Spaniel named Ellie. She was about a year old when she wandered into our neighborhood. The neighbor girls found her with a collar and no identification. They brought her to my wife as she was working for another vet at the time. We took her in, got her updated on shots an...

How Will Retailers Manage Black Friday This Year?

I've seen a few advance Black Friday ads on the tube, which leads me to wonder how stores are going to pull this off given the current circumstances. Granted Black Friday sales aren't the big draw they once were, as people are doing more of their Christmas shopping online (I believe Cyber Monday sur...

Re: Alex Trebek dies at 80.

Tragic loss! Stage 4 pancreatic cancer tends to be fatal in a matter of months. The fact that Alex not only survived the diagnosis for over a year and a half and continued to work until just a few weeks before his passing is a testament to the human spirit. Alex made Jeopardy his own, and dedicated ...

Re: Q106's website is infected with malware

I've received those alerts on several station websites, mostly belonging to iHeart properties. Cumulus had a problem with the WLS-AM website that set off a bunch of alarms a year or two back. Turns out in that case someone hacked into the site and planted a malicious script.

Re: The FCC Will Vote This Month on All-Digital AM

Maybe it will go the way of AM Stereo. AM stereo tanked because the FCC didn't choose a singular standard, but rather left the marketplace open to competing manufacturers with proprietary standards that weren't compatible when it came to decoding a stereo transmission (I believe there were four com...

Re: Who Lives in Michigan

Been here all my life. Born at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing 56 years ago next week, and never strayed from the area. Now settled with my family 20 miles north of the Cap city where the pleasing aroma of mint is in the air.

I always thought it had to do with the name of the country:

As for why southerners say y'all:

The Big Question: Why did JML just let KHQ take over their target listeners? It seems like they just rolled over and gave up. Does anyone have any info on that? I have a no info, but If I had to venture a guess I'd say it came down to budgets. Could be JML's owners just weren't prepared for the mag...

Re: WILX giving strangers thousands!

I was subject to one of these fake check scams several years ago. Got a check for $2,700 along with a letter stating that I had won the "Canada National Sweepstakes". The letter instructed to cash the check and wire the amount for a "processing fee" (red flag #1....why would they send me money to se...

Re: Whitmer NEW EO - Carbon Neutral by 2050

This is basically cosmetic politics. There's no way the governor can predict what will happen in the next 30 years. Legislatures and administrations will change hands between now and then, and she will be long out of office by the post-date on the check. This might make clean-energy purists feel war...

Re: Chris Tyler leaving WITL

Another of the good guys gone. Chris is a bright programmer who knew WITL and appreciated the station's heritage, as well as an easygoing and recognizable Wittle air talent. I know all of Midwest's Duke formats are jockless, but this would be a great opportunity to pick up a couple of familiar voice...

Re: Formats during the pandemic

You're probably right, although I can see a psychological advantage to playing music that reminds people of a time before all this shit broke. Call it comfort food for the ears.
