Re: Classic Country In The North

I don't care what frequency on the dial it is, I want it to scream loud and proud in Grayling.

Re: Classic Country In The North

WGDN is spotty in Roscommon itself but might be better more closer to Houghton Lake. Something covering the whole region would be ideal. 100.3 would have been a great choice to do this. Back when they were country I listened to that way more than WTCM.

Re: Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...

My problem isn't setting the clocks and whatnot. Its the fact that this practice is still happening. It's just a tired and old relic from the wars that really don't have a place in modern society. It just no longer makes sense. Studies have even shown that there are many negative health effects.

Re: Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...

I look at it from this perspective: There are 24 hours in a day. Regardless if its dark or light I can still do things I want regardless what the clock says. From personal experience and this is no joke, springing forward really messes me up for a couple of weeks...just dragging ass. If I happen to ...

Re: Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...

It's an old and outdated practice that is no longer relevant in today's society. Studies have shown time changes increase the risks of heart attacks and accidents. Also it's not good for your circadian rhythm. Just pick a time and stick with it...enough of this changing the clock nonsense. Why not c...

Internet over the Airwaves?

Is it possible to receive broadband internet over the airwaves like we get TV and radio? This would really have universal applications! You could get internet in the car and on the go, etc...

Re: Gretcholm wants to raise fuel taxes by 45 cents/gallon by 2020

Actually this article is misleading and way off base. This has been floating around on the internet this morning. Basically says not all the money is not going to go to roads. "an estimated 40 percent of the $1.26 billion gas tax increase in 2020 — would not go to roads. Instead, it would replace cu...

Re: Gretcholm wants to raise fuel taxes by 45 cents/gallon by 2020

Chatfield says Michigan should ensure that all taxes paid at the pump go to roads. Much of the sales tax on fuel goes to schools and local governments.

Re: Classic Country In The North

Agreed. I would much rather have that than the obscure rock they currently play.

A 90's and early 2K's centered country station that also sprinkles in some songs from prior decades would do relatively well up north and is a format Blarney Stone should strongly consider for 101.9.

Re: Lent

Although I do believe, I find organized religion to be "cult like" and I prefer not to be bound by a certain set of rules or direction set forth by the church. I don't observe things like Lent or Ash Wednesday. I don't even go to church...as another said, only for a wedding or funeral. Things are ve...

Re: Alex Trebek has stage 4 pancreatic cancer

If the worse happens then the show should just end. New hosts just don't have any appeal to me. When Bob Barker retired, the Price is Right should have ended. Nothing against Drew Carey but the show just isn't the same.
