Re: February's Nielsen Audio survey - demo rankings for A25-54, A18-34 and A18-49

80s and 90s rock should not be mixed together in equal proportion. Those eras sound too different.

106.7 tries to do that. They get killed by 101.1, 94.7, and 97.1 in the ratings.

Re: Until this occurs, financial markets will remain in a tizzy...

In response to the below question BMW posed to me on this thread on March 12... What has changed since then to change your opinion? Even in late January, it was being reported that of the cases in China, 20% resulted in "severe" illness and over 3.5% were dying. It was also known that the spread, ev...

Re: Jay Towers to bumble another “Flip the switch”

Who the hell wants to hear Christmas music right now? BAAAAAARF!!!

A good reason to listen to 98.7 instead! I like 98.7's playlist better anyway.

Re: KROQ cans entire morning team

KROQ's ratings have been lackluster for a long time, not just in mornings, but throughout the week. The Woody Show beats them fairly routinely in key demos in morning drive, and lately, KLOS also seems to be gaining some steam. Given the recent PD change there, the fact the remnants of the Kevin & B...

Re: On a scale of 0-10, how worried are you about coronavirus?

The governor must reimburse affected businesses for her closure order, unless it is covered by insurance. I agree with this in principle. This could take a few different forms. Zero interest or low interest loans, enhanced unemployment insurance for employees, property tax holidays, or executive or...

Re: Trump attacks our Governor?

It’s NOT an emergency! The mortality rate is extremely low. This is just another way for the government to get more into your life and take away your freedoms. If you were calling the shots, fuzzpower, many times more people would be affected, and the death toll would more closely resemble Italy. I...

Re: Coronavirus Playlist

Yuck. Those earlier songs are too damn old. Then again, boomers and the generations who proceeded them are at greatest risk, so in a way, those old song selections are quite fitting! I've gotta go hard & heavy with my song selections: Angel of Death - Slayer Dead Bodies Everywhere - Korn Cemetary Ga...

Re: This is the United States of America, not China

I appreciate the thoughtful response, bmw. The problem with leaving restrictions up to local municipalities is one of communication. Hundreds of cities, villages and townships sending their policies to local media outlets for dissemination would be a clusterfuck to manage. Direct mail? Not effective...

Re: WYCD's ratings fall to worst non-Holiday levels in MANY YEARS due to stupid programming changes

I think a permanent "wheel of formats" (not to be confused with 106.7 Detroit's Wheels) needs to be installed: - Mondays: Best of Alice 106.7 - Tuesdays: Best of 106.7 The Drive - Wednesdays: Best of 106.7 The Fox - Thursdays: Best of 106.7 The Beat of Detroit - Fridays: Best of 106.7 The D - Saturd...

Re: This is the United States of America, not China

And most alarming to me out of all of this, as it pertains to the long-term viability of our republic, is not this relatively non-deadly virus, but rather the degree to which Americans seem to be willing to so quickly give up their personal freedoms all in the name of security or in the name of sav...

Re: Trump attacks our Governor?

Whitmer's actions have been prudent. I think she's managed emergency response quite effectively. The feds were too slow in restricting travel, and they were definitely too slow in ramping up availability of test kits. Trump attacked Whitmer only because he knows 100% that what Whitmer stated is TRUE!

Re: Could 96.1 flip from sports?

Agreed. Won't happen. 96.1's ratings are at their best level in a long time. For that signal, and given the fact 96.1 overindexes significantly in Men 25-54, low 2's in the beauty pageant 6+ race is good. Remember, spoken word listeners are much more likely to stay tuned through commercial breaks. 1...

WYCD's ratings fall to worst non-Holiday levels in MANY YEARS due to stupid programming changes

Ditching Brian Lee for the fruity voiced guy who now handles WYCD's imaging, ditching much of the music library from rotation, and trying to make 99.5 sound more like a Top 40 station have all served to send 99.5's ratings straight into the toilet. Great job, Tim. Instead of listening to the music l...
