Re: NOheart cuts have begun

I noticed Anne Erickson (spelling?) wasn't doing her normal overnight shift on Fake Wheels last night.

Re: Local iHeartRadio Firings

I can't help but wonder if this could be the break that Thunder 107.3 needs... now is the time for them to promote the heck out of their station... WSNX lost a bunch of people a while back and Hot-FM made zero headway against them. I doubt this situation will be any different. As long as the imbeci...

I bet she winds up doing some newscast anchoring duties at some point, at least on a fill-in basis.

Re: Local iHeartRadio Firings

Most of the cuts seem to be in the mid sized markets. A couple people in Toledo and Dayton got whacked, too. I suspect the RIFs for traffic/sales and management will be as significant or even moreso. It looks like the small market stations will be even more cookie cutter than they are now. Detroit a...

At least Snot FM has the excuse of a mediocre signal and not being the heritage station in its format.

LAV has the famous call letters, format heritage, and AM and PM drive personalities who have been there since the mid 90's.

Yeah, when your best performing station in a four station cluster (I'm not counting tiny WJRW) has only a friggin' THREE SHARE, you know something ain't right!

Granted, WLAV probably still has at least a 4 share in A25-54, but that is still a poor showing for them.

Re: My road funding proposal (flashback to April 2019)...

Geographic allocation needs to be revamped, too. By no means am I saying funding by county should be 100 percent proportional by population, but when one looks at car-miles driven, the most populous counties are getting hosed (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Kent) and counties in the middle of nowhere (Lake...

Re: Ron Cameron

WJR will take money wherever it can find it. Their weekend ratings during most non-sports programming are garbage. They already air some brokered programming on the weekend, but the shows are more professionally produced than the shows heard on the throwaway stations around town.

Re: Weather hysterics

I know in my area they got it pretty damn close to right. Lots of wind and rain, in the neighborhood of 4 inches of rain. Thankful it wasn't snow. Yup; moisture plume was more supple in Indiana and western Ohio than Michigan. Ohio had CRAZY weather on Saturday! Cleveland reached the upper 60's! Fro...

Re: WJR shits the bed again...this time with a 2.2 share!

Hardly anyone under the age of 75 has any desire to resort to AM radio as a source for mainstream music, especially in a major metro area. (Foreign language programming? Different story.) The notion of iHM purchasing another AM station locally for purposes of programming a MUSIC format is hilarious;...

In terms of rock radio on the FM dial, I'm partial to Rock 105/95.5 in Traverse City, although I will say Z93 is quite good, too.

Who the hell would want to listen to a Tom Mazeway podcast?

Let me guess - one of his first interviews will be with that senile goon, Lynn Henning.

Re: November 2019 TV News Ratings

Wow - Fox 2's numbers (at least in total HH) are in the toilet! That's the closest finish in the 6a to 7a timelsot in probably 15 years. Fox 2 used to dominate the 4PM timeslot and used to put up a valiant showing at 5PM; not anymore! Fox 2's 6PM newscast's numbers are downright lousy, while the 10P...
