Re: Detroit radio station cume (weekly unique listeners count)
I should add - WRIF has lost a LOT of cume compared to prior years. They used to cume around 750,000. Now, they are in the low 600's. I would be curious to know which dayparts are hemorrhaging the most listeners. I suspect some CSX listeners who previously used WRIF as their P2 station are now using...

Re: WHNE 14.12
90% of programming on Heartland (14.12) appears to be reruns of obscure shows from The Nashville Network (TNN) from the early 90's.
Who the hell wants to watch that? I think I'd rather watch the infomercial and home shopping channels!

Detroit radio station cume (weekly unique listeners count)
These numbers have not yet been updated to reflect July's data, but you get the general idea: http://www.stationratings.com/sr_Ratings.aspx?market=11 Not surprisingly, WNIC is #1 and WKQI is #2. Here's what *did* surprise me: - Thanks to the Tigers' terrible play, WXYT-F isn't even in the top 10. - ...

How did he obtain the weapon? Didn't see any mention in the story.

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?
t surprises me that a Triple A Format Like WXRT or even Ann Arbor’s 107 One gets so much negative post on here considering there are some many liberals on this site one would think this format would win hands down. Jeff - take your meds. There have been very few negative posts about XRT or 107 One ...

Re: It's official - 105.9 Kiss is now owned by Beasley
99.9 MHz has been broadcasting nothing but dead air ever since Beasley took over. The Praise Network's ratings have dropped by more than 60 percent over the past several months. I think listeners are getting fed up with the unreliable reception and the even worse sounding audio fidelity. Interesting...

Re: The Future of 107.5fm WGPR
I have a conspiracy theory: I think one reason iFart flipped not one, not two, but three (!!!) of its HD2 and HD3 signals to similar formats - all locally programmed with different brand names (Jammin, Wild, Power) - is to hoard those brand names as a defensive maneuver. Perhaps they are concerned a...

Re: Omlettes No Longer Served at The Bear
It's up. Omelette claimed that the breakup between him and The Bear was mutual. In other words - his ratings probably weren't very good, the station perhaps offered to retain him for less money, and he said "no thanks." I cannot see the format changing. That station and Rock 105/95.5 are sold toget...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?
Here's why I chose Canton: 1 - Schools. Part of the city is served by Westland-Wayne Community Schools (lousy). The other part of the city is served by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools (five gazillion students at the high school). 2 - Adjacent communities. Canton has Van Buren Twp on one side and W...

Re: It's official - 105.9 Kiss is now owned by Beasley
The agreement was that they were going to air certain nationally syndicated programs owned by Urban One for an undisclosed period of time. Of course, all programming found on the Detroit Praise Network (other than maybe some weekend brokered programming) is from out of town, so you're probably corre...

Re: Hurricane Dorian
These dopey forecasters almost never take into account the forecast models' inherent bias!!! Rather incredible, ain't it?
And you're absolutely right - the models need to be reprogrammed.

It's official - 105.9 Kiss is now owned by Beasley
Caroline Beasley's comments are absolutely vomit inducing! "Radio" has become a dirty word. Radio broadcasters are now "audio" and "digital' companies. https://news.radio-online.com/articles/b15987/Beasley-Broadcast-Group-Closes-on-WDMK-Detroit-for-$135M In any event, it will be interesting to see w...

I absolutely LOVE the fact this station is positioning itself as HARD Rock. Not just rock. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/180174/i-rock-93-5-debuts-in-quad-cities-espn-moves-to-1170/ I-Rock 93.5 is rolling commercial-free and playing hard rock from bands like Godsmack, Slipknot, Tool, Korn, Dist...

Re: Has WCXI 1160 moved to Milford Twp?
Signal of WCXI still sounds like horseshit in eastern Oakland County. It's audible, but it's not very loud, and there is considerable "fuzz." Sounds like a distant station as opposed to a local one.
