Re: WKBD 50

There are workers on their tower, so there will be periodic power reductions or cutoffs over the next few days.

WCBS QRM

Tuning across the dial last night around 1 a.m. (Oct 30), WCBS 880 had a zero-beat signal interfering with and at times overwhelming it. Was not quite able to make out the content from the snippets I could hear, other than it was English language. 880 is usually pretty rock-solid into Detroit, so th...

another WPON update

One of the moderators of the "I Love AM Radio" page on Facebook has posted this: " For the first time in over a month, WPON was noted on the air today, 29 October. First heard at about 1145. Same as before -- cycling through mostly Motown Gold, and IDs every few records with female computer voice. C...

Re: Horrible journalism by the Free Press (shocking, I know)

Confronted with the frequent questions about deteriorating road surfaces, the stock answer from the nice lady in the Yellow Hard Hat has been, and probably always will be that well, we have freeze-thaw cycles that create potholes and cracks blah blah blah. Never mind that Ontario and Ohio and every ...

Re: Switching to/from another station's signal for network s

I am probably rather fuzzy on recollection of details on this, but I think in the mid-late 60s there was a loose regional affiliation of what were then called Educational TV stations. IIRC it was called the "M5-O2 Network." Five stations in Michigan with WTVS as the "hub," with WKAR and WCMU and 2 o...

Report on WDIV about an accident in Macomb County in which a county crew truck struck an overhead electrical line. Mr. Meloni and the Sheriff need to know the difference between one's being shocked, however severely, and being electrocuted.

Re: Then, there's this.....

Apparently WDIV didn't know they were playing a Baseball game in Chicago this evening. Unless I had been lulled asleep, heard no mention of the World Series game or a score (Indians won, boo) on Jamie's, you know, sports segment.

Aug. 1, Fox2's Robin Murdoch reported on a fatal accident in NW Detroit. Repeatedly referred to Grand River as Grand Boulevard. Big street sign right over your head there, Robin. Miles away from The Boulevard.
