Re: How many have dropped Sirius/XM during the pandemic?
But I might try that cancellation threat. It worked for OnStar. This is applicable to just about every "automatic renewal" site or service. Always intercept their customer service site before the auto renewal date and make cancellation noises. They are fearful of losing customers, especially those ...

Re: How many have dropped Sirius/XM during the pandemic?
As soon as I say," I want to cancel", they are suddenly able to offer me a "promotional" rate, which I turn down. They then come up with an even better deal, which I turn down. Then (after putting me on hold so they allegedly can see if there's anything more they can do), they miraculously have in t...

Re: OnStar
I took one of my cars off the road for three months in the spring. Had OnStar suspend service for that period, which they did. On resumption, instead of a credit, they extended my coverage term by the same amount. I may drop it from one of the vehicles which now gets only occasional use.

Re: KDTI Has Gone All Christmas Music
I have a playlist on my old school iPod with nothing but "novelty" xmas music, much of it, including "Grandma..." derived from Dr. Demento. Nobody on radio gonna play South Park's "Merry f*in' Christmas!"

Re: Least favorite commercials of all-time
Add to my list: any commercial featuring elaborately choreographed dancing to advertise a product that has nothing to do with dancing. For example, the one for a credit card or something or other I just saw this afternoon. More often I seem to see those for food or drink, especially soft drinks. Th...

Re: What About This Antenna Is Superior Enough To Justify Cost?
This is a classic wide band log periodic, so the gain is essentially the same over a large range of frequencies. ... AT&T used to have ones that went down to at least 7 MHz for transoceanic long distance. AT&T had (don't know if it's still there) for domestic use, a H*** 6.4 MHz to 30 MHz Log Perio...

Instantly rocketing to Number One Least Favorite: The newest ad for MI Senate candidate John James, now running in saturation mode. A blatant and unapologetic ripoff of the "Pure Michigan" tourism campaign, reprising Tim Allen's breathy voiceover and soft, soothing music, complete with a "write on" ...

Re: Distant stations on local AMs
Even on my "Walkman" AM/FM radio, I can do a total null out of WNZK at night. I'm probably 25 or so miles from their site, so easy to do as it's not an overwhelming signal. I can usually hear a couple of other signals on 680, not enough clarity to ID them.

Re: Weather Balloons
Weather balloons are in daily use. The Detroit/Pontiac NWS station in White Lake, MI, along with others across the country, launches balloons twice daily. They are used to gather, among other data, measurements of winds aloft, temperature gradients and barometric pressure at different altitudes. Max...
