Re: Vile pig drops out of presidential race

There's been a few articles floating around about it.
Her chief of staff was using his head for self-proctology on how to run a campaign, and the staff just started quitting.
It wasn't her, it was him.
She had no choice but to drop out.

Re: Tucker Carlson Admits Fox News Ain’t News!

In case anyone didn't see it, this is the video Screen Glare is talking about. Like CC says, Tucker fully admits that Trump lies all the time. "Almost 14,000 times so far" (his words). Tucker Carlson also calls the president "a BS artist". Interesting 12 minutes for sure. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: Small Business Saturday BS

There's a little noticed reason why many small businesses fail. Back in the day when Grandma and Grandpa started Corner Market or Family Hardware, there was Mom, Pop, and a kid or two after school and on the weekends working there. Three generations later, Mom, Pop, the kids, the kids spouses, and a...

Re: For all you idiots shaming stores and shoppers today

It’s none of your business if a store is open today, whether people choose to work, and whether people shop today. IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!! Nobody is being forced to be open, close, shop, or have sex! I agree with you, in so much that if someone is open, why should others close? Would the sam...

Re: Metro Detroit CB

I'll probably skip both of those and save my money for the Livonia swap on February 23rd. Quite a bit larger than any of the swaps that use that hall in Madison Heights. The Livonia swap is at a new place this year: Monaghan Banquet Hall Knights of Columbus 19801 Farmington Road Livonia, MI 48150 Y...

Re: Lawmakers consider toll roads in Michigan

When I was in Buffalo a couple months back, I ran into about 3 of them. In Michigan, the roads are obviously horrendous, everyone complains but when it comes time to "do something" it gets voted down or "OMG my taxes are going to go up". Not saying tolls are the end all to be all, but it takes mone...

I have to give an Amen to everything Radio Sucks says in the first post of this thread.
And ponder if Radio was reading my mind. Because a lot of what Radio says are the same thoughts crossed my mind.
Someone outside the box. Like FET-500 doing his Flounder impression "Oh boy is this great".

Re: Metro Detroit CB

I've been hunting around for an older 40-channel SSB rig for cheap. I saw a decent Cobra 142, but it got past what I was willing to bid for it. You just missed the Toledo Swap this past weekend. You can always find CB's at a ham swap for $10-20 bucks. The GM Club's swap is on April 7th starting at ...

Re: FCC to allow All-Digital on AM Band

Don't kill the AM band with pure digital. Analog AM that can travel hundreds of miles at night when it all hits the fan needs to be kept. IF, and IF, they feel that they MUST have an all-digital AM signa, then limit it to one small section of the band: the X-band from 1610-1710 only. PERIOD. It ain...

Re: Really? This is good radio?

I had to spend a couple of days in the D, and got to check out Dave and Chuck the Freak. Hmmm.... I'm glad we just play mostly music. It befuddles me as to why you would want to listen to these folks. It wasn't funny. It wasn't interesting. It was just people reading odd stories from the web and tr...

Re: Most distant AM/FM/TV signal you ever tuned in?

How about getting radio on something other than a radio, When I lived in Southgate in the 60’s, I was less than a mile from AM 1500’s towers they had twelve of them when it was WJBK radio and we heard the station with two pie tins separated by waxed paper, Also on a toaster in our kitchen we would ...

Re: Most distant AM/FM/TV signal you ever tuned in?

In my youth, I QSL'd quite a few AM stations. I think an AM station in Des Moines or New Orleans was the furthest.

But the furthest may of been WJR.
We drove to the Rocky Mountains probably 30 years ago. On the way back, as soon as we started coming down into Boulder, WJR came in loud and clear.

I was thinking more of how he failed to lead at MSU and was forced to resign. I still stand by what I said when Engler resigned from MSU. He knew it wouldn't be long term. The board of trustees knew it wouldn't be long term. Just a temporary appointment. Just long enough to leave with some sort of ...

I'm no fan of the Donald. But there's something that those still holding their breath thinking indictments are still forthcoming need to ponder. If there was actually any meat in Mueller's report, it would of got out 2.7 Nano-seconds after the first Democratic got hold of this, Every detail would of...

Re: FM Band expansion

Will the FCC ever consider expanding the over populated FM Band ? Is the talk of converting TV Channel 5 & 6 to FM broadcasting even considered anymore or is that dead in the water ? Also a little while back there was talk of moving HD Radio or Digital Radio to a completely different spectrum is th...
