Re: Downriver AM transmitters
WRDT- do they have to service their COL? Such a null to the south and night time in another county- could they change their COL from Monroe to service Metro Detroit (that is, when they were Honey Radio and had a lot of devoted listeners)? Were they originally a daytimer and why the 13W at night? WR...

Re: Distant stations on local AMs
I can still hear AM 630 CFCO in Chatham, Ontario (Country station) from my place in Sanford, Michigan (near Midland, MI)!!! CFCO really gets out. They're on excellent ground, and at a low frequency. They caught a lucky break when a protected station in the Minneapolis area lost its site and was bri...

Re: Do BLM even to Blacks?
Maybe I can help with this. First time poster, long time lurker. I'm black, early 40's, grew up broke in the hood (48224) and got out. I understand how the BLM movement got so big. When people are angry, opportunists can seize the anger of the crowd, point their finger at something or someone and u...

I'm guessing that the Channel 8 antenna and waveguide were left in place when they upgraded to 23. Now I guess they will merely undo the channel shift.

Re: Local 4 expands to 1 PM
Perhaps nobody wanted to buy infomercial time in the 12:30-1:00 PM slot. At my old worksite a few years ago, many of us would watch Jeopardy! in the 12:30 slot. Sometime later, WDIV would sell a half-hour infomercial slot instead of Jeopardy! replays, knowing that viewers would be lazy enough to jus...

Re: WUDT 23
Likely because WUDT on 23 will cause co-channel interference to WNWO in some areas south of Detroit.

I'm assuming that Arnie's estimate of 6MHz was for nighttime.
I'm still hearing a little skywave propagation in the 15MHz spectrum during the day.

(Pardon the nitpick)
WNWO's TL is in Jerusalem Township, and is the easternmost of the Toledo area's TV towers.

Is WHLS still broadcasting an AM (1450) signal ?
Yesterday, I was waiting in a fast-food drive-in line, at Grand River (M-5) and Southfield Fwy (M-39), waiting to get my food. I decided to turn on the radio to alleviate the boredom, was listening to 1450, and recognized the station as WLEC. There was the faintest co-channel carrier under it. No tr...

Re: WNWO (NBC) Toledo granted FCC license for new 275 kW DTV transmitter.
IIRC (please let me know, there is a chance I'm wrong) WNWO uses the tallest tower in Ohio. For awhile, WMFD had the tallest - actually far from Mansfield, as they had decided to rimshot the Columbus market. The venture was not successful, because the new site still had a poor signal in most of the ...
