With Decades coming to WJBK 2.5 than who needs WHNE LP.
Anyone who wants to watch the offerings on Retro network, or the quirky crapshoot of never-identified flicks that is the "Classic Drive-in" movie channel, or, something that's not Decades.
Or GetTV

Looks like WJBK will go to 720p on the main channel to fit Decades into the mux. Good decision. 720p is a nice resolution and give more bandwidth for other subchannels.

Hey WTVS! Hint...hint...drop PBS Kids down to 480i and add NHK World.
WJBK already is 720p

Re: DECADES IS COMING BACK THIS FALL!!!

I don't know the story behind the West Branch station why they are off the air. Over Memorial weekend a bad thunderstorm went though and lightning struck my 40' tower, causing damage to my laptop and popping a circuit breaker (neighbors witnessed the strike). WURO may have had the same storm knock ...

Re: DECADES IS COMING BACK THIS FALL!!!

Good channel! We had it at Houghton Lake on WURO TV18 (Roscommon) until they went off the air over Memorial weekend. WURO was still off the air this last weekend. It was also carried on their sister station in West Branch, and that has been off the air for over a year now. Hopefully the stations wi...

How many miles from Niceville? I don't see how that's relevant, but since you asked. :blink Tampa is 423 miles from Niceville https://www.google.com/maps/vt/data=eLh93yRgExG3OIQfhGVJeEgLw7S1DZ2vHgwYsQLyCMBhEDiL2Q-iR4WhsaC57z35guuxMZQuqzti5l1RTVmEg4NWlcnBNV8jRLrlpaadrrvSVVg9XA2hyhR1pwQggxpq0nGdyBkwE...

Re: Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

Now that I think about it, this is probably irrelevant. I've never been to Sanilac County, but I'm pretty sure it's a rural farm county, and if that's true, they probably don't care much about TV.

Re: Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

The Thumb area of MI screams for a 100kW digital TV transmitter, with about 8 multiplexed digital subchannels. Place it just south of Bad Axe. Put 480i of the majors from F-S-BC and 2 or 3 digital subchannels on it. It would probably have to be a Sinclair-owned station, since they own a lot of stat...

Re: Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

Yeah. back when i was younger (1990s), I'd be watching Fox 2 or Local 4 or Channel 7... and whenever there were bad storms rolling in, they'd have three counties in the bottom two rows (hillsdale, lenawee, monroe, then jackson, washtenaw and wayne).... though they also showed Genessee and Shiawasse...

Re: Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

I think Sanilac was swapped-in to replace Jackson and Hillsdale Counties around 1998 in an attempt to keep Detroit in the top 10 DMAs list... all that did was delay the inevitable by about 5 years. Wait, Jackson and Hillsdale were in the Detroit DMA at one point? Hillsdale seems like kind of a stre...

Why is Sanilac part of the Detroit DMA?

For decades now (the earliest I can trace is 2004), the Neilsen Company has defined the Detroit DMA as Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland, Monroe, Livingston, St. Clair, Lapeer, and Sanilac counties. But Sanilac County can't even get Detroit stations (or any locals) on Comcast, and the TVFool reports...
