Re: 107.7 The Bay all request Friday

WMTE 101.5 did that a few years ago when it first went back on the air. Hadn't really selected a format yet I don't think. I called in and got Scotty Mac to play "newer" music from old artists (ie, songs by 70s artists they wrote in the 90s/2000s). Was a lot of fun.

Re: Old School Local TV Megathread

It'd be really cool if someone had some of that on film, quad, or whatever else may have been available then. And another question along the lines of the WPBN news theme... what were the news music packages and graphics in the '80s? I'm assuming from that video with a simple slide from '80 that ther...

Re: Old School Local TV Megathread

Nice catch! The 29&8 logo that briefly appears in the lower right corner at 18:46 was their in-program ID. They would black out the video behind it and display it whenever the WJRT-12 in-program ID aired. Often, there was a bit of a lag...just as there was when 7&4 took its network feed from WNEM, ...

News Music Search Archive

Great site to find audio clips and such of old news music.

I can't seem to find the video that the 7&4 "1996 Theme" came from? Can't find it on YouTube. Also, I'm wondering what the correct title is. I found a few news briefs from 1995 with that music and graphics.

Interesting moving in the middle of this mess. But we don't know the back story, maybe he was let go.

Re: CBS News Special Report Intros

The number of times CBS has changed their theme is insane. NBC has had the same theme since 1986, with slight variations.

ABC more or less used the same from 1978/9 until the mid-2000s.

Re: How long until shows are anchored from home?

While I haven't paid attention to TV, radio from home, especially call in talk shows, sound like complete shit. Dead air. Missed breaks. Unable to get callers on-air. Two audio sources running simultaneously. I don't think Flint has any live/local shows left anymore, but WJR, and WDTK Detroit are a...

Re: How long until shows are anchored from home?

I haven't noticed anchors tele-broadcasting (if that might be the term?) but a LOT of meteorologists across the country are doing it. Probably most of those that are have a family.

Re: WOTV Post Repack

WOOD and WXMI were smart when they put translators on in the northern/western portions of the market (WOOD in Muskegon and Holland and WXMI in Muskegon and Hesperia). I also think WXMI has a translator or two in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area I know WZZM had a translator in Kalamazoo in the statio...

For news? No. But even with music apps out there, I do believe radio is still relevant. Not everyone has Pandora, Spotify, etc.

Re: “Taking the church to the people”

Ffs... anyone who honest believe ALL priests are pedophiles, must have been accosted by a priest at some point in their lives. If we are really going to go down that road, it isn't only the Catholic Church. Now, I completely agree with the live-streaming of church services (of ANY denomination). It ...
