From a non-TMZ perspective. Brian’s work is a living testament to the man’s musical genius, culminating perhaps with the resurrection of “Smile” in 2004.

Re: Mojo Nixon dies
He was a notable musician back when his “Root Hog or Die” album came out in 1989. That was following the “Elvis Is Everywhere” momentum from his previous album, “Bo-Day-Shus!!!”
He was an original and seemed to have fun, so we can enjoy all that musical energy for years to come.

Re: Congratulations to Nathan Reed/JJ Shades
Nathan’s LinkedIn page doesn’t list WCRZ as where he’s been. It still has him working for Cox in Tampa. He hadn’t worked in the Flint market (until recently) since 2008.
He’s returning to a company he worked for starting in 2016.
Best wishes to him, but it’s not really a surprising career move.

Re: Chad Allan (The Guess Who) dies
Chad was also briefly in Brave Belt, Randy Bachman’s band after he left the Guess Who. That evolved into BTO with Fred Turner joining in for the second album.

Congratulations to Brenda for getting to the top. I’d like to see some other classic artists get a shot at #1 as well, but it’s still great to see them in the top 40.

Re: Former WIOG PM Driver Aaron Adams passes away
I second those condolences. Aaron was a great guy who I knew for a short time, with both a talent for broadcasting and a passion for the work he did. Saddened to learn of his passing.

Re: WJOI 97fm 1987
Another station to check out online is WHLC-FM, from Highlands NC, via TuneIn. They’re a nice mix of lighter original older A/C music with instrumentals of recognizable songs. I haven’t checked them out lately to see what the holiday music mix might be, but I’m betting the ubiquitous Mariah Carey ho...

“… I am off to our sistation in Detroit…”
“Sistation”? Isn’t that a medical procedure to remove annoying tendencies to invoke cloying words?

I know he had his detractors, as evidenced regularly here, but as he was a former Tiger and a member of the 1968 World Series championship team, we celebrate his time with the organization in numerous capacities, and send our condolences to his family and friends.

Re: February Ratings for G.R.
How is WGVU-AM listed as an Oldies station with ratings in the Dec '22 and Jan '23 columns when they signed off in Jan. of 2022?
Wish it were so, but their demise and the Oldies landscape since they left the air is another subject to be explored further.
