Re: WNWO (NBC) Toledo granted FCC license for new 275 kW DTV transmitter.

Never understood why Toledo television stations broadcast with such low power? Is this an error by the FCC? Toledo vs. Dayton, mind you these are both midsize cities. Now Dayton area has much more terrain versus Toledo area which is mostly flat. However on the radio side it seems like Toledo statio...

Re: Pirate?

It's most likely a pirate... 87.7 and 87.9 are notorious frequencies they use, being just below the "official" FM band and aside from two actual licensed LPFM stations in California, they're completely empty and unused (especially due to the severe adjacent-channel interference caused to any digital...

Re: South Park "But Mom"

According to my Cartman-to-english translation.... Cartman: But, Mom, I have to get a Chinpokomom doll before everybody else does, 'cause then I'll be cool! Mrs. Cartman: Can't it wait 'til tomorrow, hon?! Cartman: But, Mom, I have to get the first one or else people won't think I'm cool! Mrs. Cartm...

Re: Scripps buying ION Media

If i remember, the FCC says there must be at least 8 different station owners to allow for any duopolies... i'd assume that is the bare minimum...

unless something strange and unusual happens, like a station gets bought to prevent it from going off the air (a "failing station waiver")...

Re: Environment Canada to end weather radio.

How can we convince Environment Canada is pennywise/poundfoolish to decommission the VHF WX radio system? That's like dumping all the VOR for aircraft because "they can use GPS" - yeah, until GPS doesn't work, then WTF do you do? Same for cell systems overloading during a weather emergency- I didn'...

Re: CKLW-FM/CIDR's Original Transmitter Site

The Canada Trust Building is now the Metropolitan Building. It was built sometime in 1929 and is still around, sitting at 176 University Street West (at the NE corner of the intersection with Victoria Avenue).

Re: Schitt's Creek

i enjoy local free television, not because i'm cheap, but because i'm on a limited budget and have to make due with what I have available... that and I like to try to support my local AM/FM/TV stations and the stores that advertise on them. Shows like Schitt's Creek make me glad I kept my rooftop an...

Re: Schitt's Creek

I checked CW 50's schedule and it doesn't list the show yet... is there a date for when it will begin airing?

I also thought that FOX picked up syndication rights to it, but Fox 2 isn't airing it either...

Re: CKOT 1510

about a decade ago, it got approval to migrate to the FM band as CJDL-FM 107.3.

Then, it and its sister, CKOT-FM 101.3 got bought by Rogers Media.
