Re: Ratings!

This is all a joke. These outdated diaries are laughable. Wow, I wonder what WCBY did to more than double their ratings, considering it's a thousand-watt station that has been running the same programming for decades? Oh and look Big Country is now the number one station. And Real Rock, who has had ...

Re: No Tigers Radio in Traverse City

I believe everybody is missing the point. Midwestern is getting rid of all contracts that carry a time commitment because they are for sale. That is probably why they got rid of ESPN and stopped covering high school sports.

Bob and Tom crashed and burned on the Bear, Omelette crashed on the Bear, Smitty crashed on the Bear. Maybe the problem is the Bear.

Re: A Common Ground Topic Of Interest To TC Talks And Me

The shifts in the weather patterns have been pretty dramatic. The average temperature is going up every year and this winter with the exception of 13 days has been incredibly mild. Two years ago (2019) from January to April, we set records in snowfall where I live. In the last ten years, we have ha...

For those of us who believe in climate change, Northern Michigan is one of the safest places to be in the United States going forward.
Yes, I have really noticed how warm Northern Michigan has been the last few years.

Storm Armageddon?...Not according to the voice trackers.

Saturday I drove through the worst storm I'd ever seen in Northern Michigan. While flipping through several stations I was embarrassed by what I heard. Voice tracking is the enemy of two of radio's strengths; Localization and immediacy. When the storms were developing I heard nothing from the DJ's w...

Re: WSRJ Sold

I wonder if the people inside Northern Michigan Radio realize how quickly their business is dying? All these stations being sold for pennies on the dollar. Think of how many dozens of on-air jobs have disappeared just in the last few years. Somebody told me that three big stations Lite FM, Big Count...

Is radio relevant anymore in a crisis?

As a fan of radio my whole life I never thought I'd say this but local radio to me has become irrelevant during this pandemic. The information is moving so fast and changes hourly. Detroit voice Trackers aren't cutting it for Northern Michigan information. Some jocks seem to be hours or even days be...

Re: What Does the Fox Say? Goodbye...

I listened to the last hour of the morning show Friday just out of curiosity. There is something I found a little puzzling. I guess the midday woman on the Fox is Chris McCarver and she’s the general manager of the, now defunct, NBI. I know this because she was boasting about how she worked her way ...

Re: Omelette returns

I looked at men 35 plus for KLT which is what they target. Also in case, you haven't heard Macdonald Garber did buy 106.7 and as of right now they don't know what format they are going to run.
