Re: Christmas Music on WNIC

[Casey Kasem] later famously hated doing a Long Distance Dedication about a little dog named Snuggles, so I guess his stardom had gone to his head. As I heard, he was having a tough day that day -- eventually, a proper Long Distance Dedication for Snuggles made the cut of that week's AT40, though t...

Re: Bias in online journalism

Any chance it's not merely that he's acting this way as a performative show to endear himself to the so-called bosses, that in fact these are the views he's had all along (with or without the Sinclair effect) and now he's felt like going all-in with them?

At this typing, their site now says Gray at the bottom of any given page, but is otherwise unchanged.

Strange support for Biden’s FCC nominee coming from OAN of all places… https://deadline.com/2021/11/fcc-joe-biden-gigi-sohn-endorsed-by-one-america-news-network-1234871799/ Of course he does. Because Sinclair's loss (or even just the perception of Sinclair being a BIG loser) is OAN's gain! Strange ...

You mean "Parkay"?? He's actually probably referring to a series of ads that ran at least in the late 80s that promoted butter in general on behalf of the American Dairy Association. In the early 90s, he also spoke for True Value. To wit: https://www.nytimes.com/1987/04/05/business/star-weatherman-...

Re: Radio ratings 1993-94

As to this: Can't believe Detroit was still a Top 10 market that stage of the game either, thought they were down to #9 already by 94? Turns out, they remained firmly planted at #6 all through the 90s, not dropping down even to #7 until the first directory of the 2000s. For those who feel like takin...

WHYT interestingly still continued to report as a CHR/Pop to R&R until late '95 or early '96 when they finally moved to the Alternative panel.
Actually, no. They moved in mid-April: https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-R ... df#page=66

It appears this is the strongest tornado to strike Huron County since an EF3 hit Bay Port in June 1984 after striking Bay City and then moving out over the bay (I'm not sure if the EF3 damage was done in Huron County though). Apparently it was still EF-3 when it came back onshore at Bay Port: https...

Anyone know WIOG's day of switching from 106 to 102? Seems like September 1986 is all the more it can be narrowed down - wonder if anyone would be able to pin a day on it. Using Broadcasting Magazine's annual Yearbooks, I'd guess September 22. The 1988 Yearbook gives an acquisition date for WIOG as ...

Cox said she’s known about the payments since 2019 and had hoped Weiser would repay the party. She said she had feared “going public because it might tear the party apart.” "Because it might tear the party apart." For all we know, she may have hit that right on the nose. As astutely noted by Gongwe...
