Re: WOOD TV Sports Personnel

Grand Rapids is a weird sports market. It is a larger market. A lot of various sports teams. People are very supportive of those teams. That being said, those teams are ones that in the grand scheme of things, no one cares about. No major college teams. Minor league professional sports. Due to that...

Re: Wsym weather in house

Fox 17 doesn’t want sweaty Brad anywhere needs its broadcasts. In fact, they don’t even want Brad working out of GR. They put up with him, because they are told to by Scripps management. But as bad as morale, revenue, and ratings are at Fox 47, this “arrangement” with Sugden needs to change. Why we...

Re: Audacy files Chapter 11

I have noticed that Audacy is now producing the Fly on the Wall SNL podcast with David Spade and Dana Carvey. Previously it was produced by Cadence 13. Note: I just looked it up. Audacy is the parent company of Cadence 13.

Re: How much time off do you get at cbs62

The benefits are the best in the market for anchors and meteorologists. They begin with 3 or 4 weeks vacation time depending on contract, several days of personal time, a week or two of sick time, etc. CBS recognizes the national holidays as paid holidays as well which allows more paid time off. Fo...

Re: Demotions at Fox47

47 should go back to having WILX produce the news for them (but they won’t and/or WILX wouldn’t want to take on the additional shows since they just added a bunch of newscasts). It more likely that they would just have Scripps sister station WXYZ simulcasted on 47 — kinda like what happened in the ...

WILX sports on weekends?

Occasionally I will watch the WILX 6:00 pm news on Saturdays. Do they ever have a sports segment on the weekends? The past few times I watched it, it was just news and weather...no sports. That seems odd since often times the biggest events in sports happen on the weekends.

They are Scripps stations, just like WXYZ stories show up on FOX 47 in Lansing.

Jim Geyer at WLNS is also retiring today. Something tells me there was some sort of incentive (positive or negative) for him and Terri to "retire".
Jim mentioned he is 70 years old. I don't think he was pushed out.

People are idiots who berate meteorologists for providing life saving information… especially those who go on profanity-laced tirades from their work accounts.
Yes, this may come as a surprise to some people, but there are some things in life more important than sports.

Coverage on WXYZ's app is excellent.
Perry is not even in their viewing area, still they covered it.
