Re: Local 4 Photographer Contract

If anybody cares, the highlights from the contract are, 3 years with raises of 5%, 3% and 3%, 2 more positions added, allows for MMJs but limits the number and what they can and can't do, no layoffs of union photogs if MMJs are employed and eliminates the option for 10 hour shifts 4 days a week. Th...

Re: Local 4 Photographer Contract

Top scale photographer is less than 7 and about the same as 2, 62 only has a few unionized photogs and I feel like they are paid comparable to 7 but I am not positive. 2 and 4 are represented by NABET, 7 and 62 are represented by IBEW but different locals. WXYZ's technicians; photographers, editors...

Re: Bally Sports May Lose TV Rights to MLB Next Week

I'm curious to see how this really works out. Sinclair so over-paid for these networks that they broke the system. Nothing ever changes in these deals. It's always the same crews and same trucks, just a different "owner'.

Re: What happened to Ronnie Dahl on channel 12?

Ronnie was freelance at WJBK, got hired at WXYZ. Her contract was not renewed at channel 7. She was furious about not being renewed. She then had a short stint at the ATF. After that she went to WOIO in Cleveland. After a few short months in Cleveland, she was walked out the door after something she...

Not much interest because he is bland. Good luck in retirement, try the spicy chicken.

Re: 2022 Predictions

- No top-tier news talent from the existing stations in the market will show up on channel 62. It is possible a few recognizable faces will show up there, but no one that a station should be built around. - Once its full time news operation launches, channel 62 will be marred by a lack of investiga...

Re: TV News Ratings November 2020

Notice the usage of the phrase "increased news share." So, if total news viewership share went down but 7's portion of the pie went up a bit (even if their raw share number was flat to down), the station is claiming success. What the heck does the term "increased ratings growth" even mean? Channel ...

Yep. Dye came from GR. His wife didn't like the commute. Not sure why because he was only there a day or so a week.

Re: TV News Ratings November 2020

From the "I'm Not Surprised" department, the Circle's stellar (cough) ratings performance of late has opened up the ND position at Broadcast House. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2020/12/1/breaking-motown-news-director-is-out re-read this in4mu, I would be curious to see who Scott Jones' sources...

Re: Pretty cool. 7's Hally Vogel has a greenscreen at home

I once had a respected video engineer say to me: "....we spent years trying to perfect television technology and you fuckers in Production constantly try to fuck it all up." That is a true statement! The problem with "home green-screens" is that they are cramming them into small rooms in the anchor...
