Re: Darrin Rockcole
Tim Staudt announced on his radio show on Monday that Emily indeed is joining WILX as the chief meteorologist. Seeing how everything still seems pretty secretive about it, I wonder if he let the cat out of the bag sooner than he was supposed to.

Re: Easy 93.3
I haven't heard the programming yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's very similar to 1400 / 104.1 in the Bay City area. It reminds me a great deal of 1400/104.1. I haven't listened to those stations long enough to know how close the comparison would be, but it is definitely along those lines.

Easy 93.3
I noticed this morning that WXLA is now going by "Easy 93.3", playing "easy" music from the 1970s onward. A format adjustment of sorts of a decade or two forward from their previous format.

Re: Portest Coverage
I watched just the WOOD coverage last night, and was overall impressed with what they did. Major props to Leon. I started watching about 9:30 and made it until a little after 2, and he was on the whole time, solo, doing phone interviews and coordinating coverage with the field reporters. Justin Koll...

Re: How High Would A 250 Watt Translator Have Be To Equal A 3000 Watt Class A?
All or nearly all existing AM translators could be fit into a small expanded FM Band, if the FCC would ever do it. True, however an expanded band would require the purchase of a new radio, and that is something people are doing much less of. I think an expanded band at this point would relegate the...

Re: Multiple City IDs Past, More Recent, and Present
Back in the late 80's/early 90's, I recall WION in Ionia having a unique TOH ID. The ID would be the typical "WION Ionia", but would be followed by a name of a town in their listening area (Portland, Pewamo, Saranac, Westphalia, Belding etc). Each hour would feature a different "secondary" city. The...

When the local staff at the NYC station makes the national leadership looks like conservative business people, you know you are dealing with some fringe left wing crackpots.

Re: September numbers are in; are WTNR"s numbers truly this terrible ?!?!
1340 still has the WJRW calls - WBBL was moved over to 1490. So it is possible that 107.3's numbers are accurate.
At what point do you blow up 101.3 and try something completely different. I understand their role, but are they even taking anything away from WLAV at this point?

Re: Catholic radio in Detroit
I live in Whitmore Lake and I can't hear WDEO at all at night. CBW dominates the frequency. Even the daytime signal is quite noisy and seems to be not as strong as it once was. Even when I lived in Saline, CBW cut in very often at night, especially during the winter months. My preference would be i...

Re: Nexstar in Flap With DIRECTV and AT&T-UVerse
I've noticed WOOD and other stations in this scenario have stopped telling affected viewers they have the option to view the station for free using an antenna. Further proof as to what these standoffs are all about.

Re: Fm translators
My car radio doesn't have an aux input for audio, so I bought a Bluetooth FM transmitter off eBay a couple years back. It's been tuned to 107.7 since I've had it. Looks like I may need to find a new frequency to park it on soon. I find 87.9 works pretty well for mine - the only thing it has to batt...

WWTV-FM / WWAM Aircheck from 1969
I found this on YouTube - a roughly 20 minute unscoped aircheck from WWTV-FM and WWAM from 1969. Based on the audio quality I am assuming it was recorded off of the FM, although the AM appears to be the primary station at this point.

Re: Lansing - Nielsen Audio 12+ AQH results - Fall 2018 survey
My .02.....probably all it's worth: The only thing that surprised me about 92.1 is that it was as high as .8. This station has .2 written all over it. I have seen zero promotion whatsoever for it, and obviously the product leaves much to be desired. WUOM scored respectable numbers in Lansing - not s...

Re: 94.5 The Q - new format is Adult Album Alternative
I like this choice of format - it appeals to a group of people who most likely feel that radio has nothing for them. That being said, and knowing what we know now - why wouldn't Cumulus spend the past two weeks telling listeners to "make the switch" to 107.3? Why not hammer away to change the preset...

Re: WBBL gone
Four days in, and here is what we have: The new Ticket has a top of the hour ID that IDs 1340 as WJRW Newaygo/Grand Rapids. I thought at first maybe it was a foreshadowing of a change to WLAW, but it definitely states 1340 before WJRW. Incorrect top of the hour ID...... The website for the former WJ...
