Re: Takes Place In Detroit

The first couple of episodes of "Bob" (CBS) had characters riding in subways. By about the 3rd episode, they had switched to buses.

Re: 25-66 impacted by Sinclair ransomware attack

As an IT Engineer whose sister company is a digital forensics investigation company - I have firsthand experience of a ransomware shitshow. First and foremost - a forensics company is going to want to gather an "image" of EVERYTHING in time. This is to determine how the breach occurred, where it cam...

Re: Turntable Question

I have a Numark TT-250USB. Has a built-in preamp, so I have the USB output or the LINE LEVEL output. Swapped the original Numark Magnetic Cart and Stylus to a Stanton 500 Cart/D5107AL Stylus I had left over from my radio days. I think most Turntables these days are magnetic carts; except for the low...

Re: Cell phones as two way radio apps

Google "voicemeeter" (yes, with 2 "e"'s.) While I havent used their PTT app yet, their other audio solutions (virtual mixer, audio networking via VBAN) are surprisingly solid solutions for being donation-ware.

Terry Camp hopped between 5 and 25 once...perhaps twice. Don't believe he was ever on 12, though. Bondy was at 5 at one time as well, before parking it at 25.

Re: A gripe with Q106 (your new audio processing settings SUCK)

Hell, even I can take my USB SDR; tune to my Part-15 FM frequency; run the audio through a software based ASIO sound device (so no D/A conversion) - patched into Spectrometer (FREE Software) - and look at my frequency response.

And I'm CHEAP!

Re: The New K107.3 Flint's Classic Hits

More like:

"We left these artists behind us years ago, and I'm not letting the same happen to me. We spun up 107.3FM so I could continue to host, bringing the format more inline with what I am most hip to".

Re: A little help with plugging away

What you have here is a cable that splits the analog VGA signal pins of Red, Green, and Blue to individual connectors. These would get attached to a device that would accept RGB (professional NTSC monitor, video recorder (think BNC jacks), etc - most notably used these days in projectors). The descr...

Re: DIY antenna designs for attic?

I built the stealth-hawk antenna, which resides in a tree in my backyard.

Able to pull in all locals and LP-TV stations. Does well on VHF as well.

My aunt who once lived in Atlanta had mentioned to me that she was frequently able to pickup WJR in her car radio when she was up in the northern hills of Atlanta suburbs.

Re: Worst-sounding radio stations of all-time.

BMW... I was out of there by 2001 or so, so not quite sure what happened beyond then. I wouldn't doubt that some songs may have been pitched higher (songs 128bpm or so) - but I'm not entirely sure. If I remember correctly, Scott Studios had the ability set the pitch within the software as well. Perh...

Re: How does Nielsen work

What stations did you list? For me, a mix between WKQZ and WMJO. There was one day I was messing with my SDR, so I logged WJR for an hour as well. I logged WIOG in my diary the few times we were together in our vehicles. My daughter is pretty much exclusively WIOG when she's not watching Youtube. M...
