Re: Catholic Radio in West Michigan
Don't forget that 103.9 Ludington - also an LP signal - is an affiliate too and IDs with Holy Family Radio and WVHF-AM.

Re: 97.1 MeTVFM South Bend heard on 96.7
This unknown station has finally been solved after a Facebook post on an AM group showed that an Valpo FM translator (of an AM station) was rebroadcasting WGTO, which made me curious if anyone else was, given this mystery that has bugged me for months. I checked the station databases again to find t...

Re: 1380 WGLM
Thanks for the response, both of you. I passed the info along to John Rieger to be posted on dx-midAMerica. John sure is persistent with keeping that site going. I've known John for 18 years and despite all the changes in his life, I don't think that site has changed a bit in the 26 years it has be...

Re: 1380 WGLM
I've had a tip that 1380 and the 101.9 translator have split from simulcasting 106.3 and debuted a new format, but I'm not within listening range to tell. Chris Kadlec or someone else in the area, can you confirm? I am barely within listening range of any of these (at night anyway). 1380 is St. Lou...

Re: Nielsen #s for GR radio - some significant movements!
That all seems fine, except I'd push WGRD closer to a true active rocker. Cut out ANY pre-1991 product... increase new music adds/spins. Give up that attempt to be the thorn on WLAVs side. Absolutely. WGRD is pretty dull considering they are the one and only (non-classic) rock station in the whole ...

Re: August 16-22 Tropo Summary
I had an odd one this past Saturday night. I usually have no problem pulling in WJRT in southwestern St. Clair County, but instead found myself watching WINM out of Angola, IN. https://i.postimg.cc/Zn0rK7KV/WINM.jpg That sure was another awesome tropo opening Friday night through Monday night!!! Ev...

Re: August 16-22 Tropo Summary
It was certainly an impressive event indeed! Then this morning when I really didn't have much chance to listen, I had a few more stations from Missouri, all in very strong. Conditions were very stable but long-distance catches were quite few and far between at the same time, which was great given th...

August 16-22 Tropo Summary
Here is a summary of the massive tropo event of August 16 and August 19-22 as heard here in Fremont. Equipment includes a portable Grundig G8 with an attached voice recorder; every piece of equipment is currently broken in one way or another and in desperate need of replacement. All catches are live...

Re: 97.1 MeTVFM South Bend heard on 96.7
Thanks, but it was local groundwave - not even tropo at that - in the entire time I was monitoring from 2 to 6pm with the same signal quality as the other South Bend stations (weak-ish, but stable).MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:24 pmYou were probably hearing WXZO via e-skip.

97.1 MeTVFM South Bend heard on 96.7
Hi all. I was doing some radio bandscan work at Warren Dunes last weekend for a project of mine and ran into MeTVFM. However, while it is typically on the air on 97.1 South Bend (as WGTO-AM Cassopolis), I logged a rather semi-local 96.7 with a "MeTV" ID and nothing at all in the null of local The Dr...

Re: Shipshewana, IN FM Bandscan 7/20
Usually in South Bend and Elkhart I can pick up at least WPWX A lot harder to pick them up in SW MI and the South Bend area now since 92.1 turned on their IBOC a few years back. There are plenty of stations in NE Indiana and adjacent regions that are co-channel with the major FMs in Chicago. Chicag...

Re: City of Grand Haven evicts WGHN-FM from tower due to lease violations
WGHN has had some technical difficulties in the past day. They have been off the air since at least Tuesday morning, i.e. running dead air but with the signal still broadcasting. Not only has 92.1 been off, but 94.9 and 93.1 as well. However, while they were all off while I was in Grand Haven in the...

I checked this afternoon in the car and could hear The River breaking through V100.7's IBOC, meaning it is certainly back at full power.

Re: 100.5 The River on low power
I was up in Fremont today and scanning the FM band and noticed the River was missing in action. Got back to our place in Newaygo and can't hear it here either. I thought they may have been off the air. I'll have to check the signal when we return to GR either tomorrow or Tuesday. It is indeed there...

Re: 100.5 The River on low power
It's barely receptible here near Grattan. WITL goes much farther west than it usually does, I got it to almost Sparta a couple days. V100 came in past M37 That is the normal range of WITL actually. It's rather common here in Fremont on a usual day (i.e. October to May or so) and easy to hear along ...
