Re: Let the games 'begin?' or not!
Well, well, well. Yet another reason emerges to "cut the cord". I'm going to hang on to "the cord" till my agreement expires, and then...?

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
In the nightcap, our boys just blew a 4-0 lead. I think I'll watch Star Trek instead.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
I know it's early, but Jack Flaherty is dealing to his old team the Cardinals; he has struck out the first six batters he's faced! (Edit) Make that first SEVEN batters he's faced.: (Edit #2) He's struck out TWELVE through five innings! (Edit #3) Flaherty's day ends with a career high FOURTEE...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
My wife and I went to the game last night. Christmas gift from the kids. At least 3 maybe 4 times a Jared Goff chant engulfed the stadium. Started in the 2nd inning I think when the Tigers were down by 3 and had committed 3 errors at that point. It was going on loudly as the game was over and fans ...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
They actually committed FOUR errors yesterday! This after committing only three in the first ten games. Baez at SS is an adventure. But have you ever seen a low trajectory line drive slice through the wind and leave the ballpark as fast as Vierling's ultimate game-winning three-run blast? Zo...

Re: NFL Draft in Detroit
The S/RB out of Utah sounds like a special teamer at best. Maybe with the new kickoff rules that was the whole idea. Yeah, the position of kick returner is suddenly a relevant position this year. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the new kickoff rules and exactly how that will look. I wasn't...

Re: NFL Draft in Detroit
The pick of H*** O-lineman Giovanni Manu out of British Columbia is reminiscent of last year's third rounder DT Brodric Martin, only this one's on offense. They may be rough in a lot of areas, but ya can't coach size. The S/RB out of Utah sounds like a special teamer at best. Maybe with the new kick...

Re: NFL Draft in Detroit
The Lions apparently got word the Packers were interested in Arnold at #25, or so goes the rumor. Giving up a high third-rounder was a semi-panic move.

Re: NFL Draft in Detroit
Instead of commenting on the various fashion statements, I'll just say the Lions must be truly concerned about the state of their cornerback room having taken both Arnold and Rakestraw in the first two rounds, and then not having another pick till the fifth round, barring trades of course. Division ...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
Back in the old days, there was "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain." For the Tigers this season, is it going to be "Skubal and Mize and pray for cloudy skies?" Flaherty looked darn good his last time out, it was fielding faux pas that did him in. Olsen has also shown good stuff. Maeda, on the other ...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
He's gotten worse since the shift rule. 2 years ago, if a ball was hit to the right side, he would just run back to first. Now, he actually has to field his position and his limitations are more apparent. EDIT: Tork the DH today. Don't worry, I've heard he "plays a good first base." If you're...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
If only for a day, rookie call-up Wenceel Perez is da man! :smokin This despite the earlier faux pas in the outfield which might have made him da goat (small letters). Meadows has so much range, he should have more authority in the outfield to call off the corner outfielders on fly balls. You could...
