Thoughts about work amid Covid-19 crisis

With all this Covid-19 crap, I have been often wondering about changing my line of work as to not be classified as "essential" anymore. I don't wanna deal with anything like this again. Not only that but honestly I've been quite bored. I've been in retail for 21 years between two different grocers a...

Re: Self Quarantine

I have decided to take an additional week off work using some vacation time. So I'll go back in mid April. I feel like I'm doing the right thing. I can;t control what others do, I can control what I do. With so many people thinking this is vacation time because they are laid off, I fear for my safet...

Would be better to rag on 9&10's gawdy logo. Simply hideous! The color scheme and fonts are horrible.

Joe Diffie dies at 61 (Coronavirus)

Absolutely devastating... I cried, not gonna lie. A serious voice of my beloved 90's country.

Re: Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer expected to issue coronavirus ‘Stay at home’ order

Human Resources granted me 2 weeks paid leave. I am comfortably at home not around the public. Stress and anxiety are way down now.

Re: Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer expected to issue coronavirus ‘Stay at home’ order

I have contated HR about getting some leave from work. Explained my health issues and great anxiety. They said they'd get in touch with me today to see what we can do.

Re: Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer expected to issue coronavirus ‘Stay at home’ order

I guess retail lives don't matter. I'm screwed. What's being done to protect us in retail?

Re: MLB Opening Day delayed at least two weeks

Honestly I think ALL sports will be canned for the year. This stuff could be going on much of the year.

Re: Suing government’s overreach

I want to protect myself. It's hard to protect myself when I am scheduled to work during this pandemic. I can't just NOT work. I feel like I am being put at risk at the store and I don't feel safe, especially when everything else is shutting down. As I said in another thread, we aren't allowed to we...

Re: Self Quarantine

With the new Federal guidelines of groups of no larger than 10... how can any retail establishment be open!? I know grocery stores are important, but are employees being put at risk by staying open while restaurants, bars, casinos, etc are being shut down? How can you protect the workers of one grou...

Re: Self Quarantine

Anxiety is running high to the point I feel sick. I don't feel safe being at work right now. I couldn't tell you how many people come to the checkout coughing and sneezing right before they hand you their money.

Re: Self Quarantine

The chain I work for has no union. It would be kinda nice if they did. Seems we are always jerked around. We don't really have any protections. Let's talk about changing your job status to benefit the company and not yourself. Let's talk about benefits taken away or reduced because of that job statu...
