Re: Now that's a hell of a business model.

Reese WION has a Birthday party every year at Bertha Brock Park just a little west of Ionia. Lots of listeners and engineers attend. It's free and from what I hear a fantastic time. Forget about corporate radio festivals and try something like this. Heck I bet if you call WION they will save a hot ...

Rush was on the air in Grand Rapids for many years, and Reese is following-up on an earlier post from GR section.

WMQT (Q107), in the mid-eighties, played maybe a third of its programming off-pitch by a full semi-tone. As a musician with perfect pitch, it was akin to fingernails on a blackboard... I worked there in the mid '80s. It's true when we dubbed vinyl to carts (which most music/jingle/commercials were ...

It's been a while but would he have been Prod Director at GRD back in the early 90s?
I think that was Dan Clark.

Re: I signed up for reddit

I finally got with the times and signed up for reddit. Umm, it's nice to have a giant internet-wide message board on every topic ever, but it just doesnt have that same kick and thrill about it like a real message board, such as this one. I just don't get the hype I like it. I like being able to jo...

I hate siritus xm's processing with a passion, can make songs with good bass sound like shit.
Agree, the digital and audio compression gives the music a much lower-quality sound as compared to most OTA music stations.

The station he programmed in Charlotte (107.9 The Link) was losing very badly in the ratings to competitor K104.7.

Some things never change.
Maybe now's not the time.

I know that the Spirit song "Taurus" (which is my zodiac sign) was ripped from Led Zeppelin "Stairway To Heaven"...
Other way around, "Taurus" was before "Stairway".

I can't believe there is anyone that would want to listen to Christmas music this early in the year.
I know, it's frustrating that other people like different things!
