Re: CICO-32 in Windsor

WTVS should consider the same approach. They don't need PBS kids in HD. Flip it to 480i and take the main signal to 720p. Add about 4 subchannels that bring them revenue. Then they won't have to beg for money as much as they do. I disagree. Adding extra channels would largely cannibalize their exis...

Re: WPON testing again ?

I may have been mistaken, fuzzpower.

Looks like WCXI is broadcasting with 250 watts non-directional from Milford Twp. under STA.

Re: Catholic radio in Detroit

My guess is Crawford is kicking Salem's ass as far as brokered programming is concerned.

I hear plenty of filler (in house) programming on WLQV during weekends, along with some national infomercials.

Re: Q106 interference

The response I received is consistent with my longtime understanding of how interference complaints to the FCC must be made.

All of this was well documented during the 104.7 WIOT / Smooth Jazz 104.7 saga years ago.

Re: Make no mistake about it - the media is rooting for a recession

Sorry, but a recession *is* coming. Might take another 12 to 18 months to officially arrive, but one is around the corner. We are due. We typically see a recession within a decade's time from the prior one. In fact, it is rare to go a complete decade without a recession. A lot of small cap & mid cap...

Re: Jay Allen has cancer

Enjoyed listening to Jay Allen during his time at WOOD 1300. Jay Allen left KLQ in the mid 90s to join WOOD Radio as the sports guy on the morning show with Gary Allen. Not quite. He left KLQ around 1993 to co-host mornings with Michelle McCormick at WGRD. He was hired to fill the vacancy that was c...

Re: WPON testing again ?

Agreed.

I think WCXI is back to full power from their licensed Fenton site.

CXI in the daytime can be heard across much of Metro Detroit with a decent car radio.

Re: The WLLZ Fix List.

This crappy radio station has played Stone Temple Pilots six (!!!) times since 8 AM this morning.

A classic rock station with so little artist variety is pretty rare. The repetition is on this station is really bad by classic rock standards.

No wonder WCSX is (once again) #1 in Persons 25-54.

Re: Ratings are out!

I noticed Nielsen is moving about 40 to 50 diary markets to "continuous monthly measurement." Is this the same technique that was used in major & large markets in the pre-PPM days?

Grand Rapids and Toledo are two of the markets that will use the new methodology.

I sorta enjoy 107.1 Ann Arbor and 94.5 Grand Rapids' take on the AAA format.

Re: Catholic radio in Detroit

I predict WLQV will be sold. The station airs a handful of obscure national programs on a daily basis + Darrell Wood's afternoon talk show (remember him? He used to host nightly Michigan Lottery drawings), which frankly would fit much better on WDTK, not a "faith talk" station. A syndicated show of ...

Re: Q106 interference

As I stated during the 94.5 MHz interference debacle, engineers employed or engaged by fully licensed stations need to collect & submit complaints of interference to the FCC. The FCC will not act on complaints submitted to the agency directly by consumers! I confirmed the above by attempting to subm...

Re: Q106 interference

Is the 48 dBu contour the cutoff point for valid complaints or is it the 50 dBu?
