Re: CKWW 580 Signal Observations

Faint signal here in Beverly Hills right now despite little to zero co-channel activity on 580. Reception is noticeably weaker than 800 CKLW. Both stations' audio levels are set far too low.

Bell Media's engineering standards are in the toilet. It is shameful.

Did the debate from Wednesday even air on TV in SE Michigan? I don't believe it did.

Re: Remembering Farmer Jack 15 years later

I’m pretty sure you’re thinking of the location at Plymouth Rd and Green Rd near US-23? Nope, although if I remember correctly, that Busch's (like the one on the south side of Ann Arbor) also used to be a Kroger decades ago. It appears the S. Industrial & Stadium Kroger closed quite a long time ago...

Re: Remembering Farmer Jack 15 years later

The only Busch's I set foot in was the one near Eisenhower and Main in Ann Arbor, some 22 years ago. It was a rebadged former Kroger store (it had the classic mid 60s to 70s Kroger Superstore exterior architectural elements). I remember being underwhelmed. I recall narrow aisles and mediocre prices....

Re: Remembering Farmer Jack 15 years later

I enjoyed shopping at Farmer Jack's larger, more modern stores (16 Mile and John R, as an example). Their donuts were phenomenal. Check out was always speedy even during busy periods. I think one problem faced by the chain is it held onto its small, outdated neighborhood stores for far too long. The...

Re: Is Big Oil Punishing Blue Counties in Michigan?

Many stations in western Michigan get their fuel from refineries in NW Indiana as opposed to Marathon's refinery in Detroit. That sometimes causes price differences.

I can answer the first question - they are definitely constructing a full scale news set.

Amazon Fresh is coming to SE MIchigan (bricks & mortar grocery stores)

I learned about Amazon Fresh's ambitious entry into the Metro Detroit market from an article that appeared early this morning at detnews.com: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/2022/07/05/grocery-wars-amazon-fresh-shake-michigan-markets/7639840001/ However, the Detroit News definitely was no...

Re: Is Big Oil Punishing Blue Counties in Michigan?

Often, I've noticed the cheapest gas prices in Metro Detroit occur in & around Dearborn and the west side of Detroit proper. Southfield, Oak Park, Beverly Hills and Bloomfield Hills seem to be more expensive than everywhere else, and it's been that way for years. The price differential between the K...

Re: NFL Football on Toledo radio

Fostroit fits; Fostoria is one depressing shithole of a town.

I'm surprised to see they have an affiliate in Dayton; on FM no less.

They ought to have an affiliate or two in NW Ohio aside from a tiny AM in Fostoria.

Quick update on the 2023 Honda HR-V:
the "official" 0 to 60 time is 9.5 seconds.

That 10.9 second score was measured in the mountains of Washington state.
