Re: Jammin' Oldies
Not on a full market FM. Maybe a translator or throwaway AM for that coveted 0.2 share. It would be better than some of what is on these signals currently. The Beasley translator on 99.1 in Shelby Township would be a great choice for a Classic Soul format. The current podcast crap is a waste. The o...

Re: April Ratings
I drive 10+ mins and not one song is played on 955 or the other stations. How can you listen to an entire market with 40 plus stations and not hear one song. Somehow, I definitely don’t believe you. The non - commercial Christian stations play tons of music, CBC Music 89.9 plays a lot of music. Act...

Re: Jammin' Oldies
As much as I would love the return of The Groove to Detroit, I don’t think it would do good in the ratings 24years later. The best option is the internet with literally hundreds of Classic Soul stations to stream.

Re: CFCO-FM 91.3 International Concurrence Granted
I honestly think in time Blackburn will shut down all 3 of their remaining AM facilities. They will save money and have all new FM stations. And now that the CRTC allows one broadcast company to operate 3 FM’s in one market this would be financially beneficial for Blackburn. I just looked on the FCC...

Re: CFCO-FM 91.3 International Concurrence Granted
CFCO 630 and CHOK 1070 are two of the best AM signals left in Ontario outside the Horseshoe. Even a Class A has nowhere near the coverage of either. They can be the best signals, but if the people don't listen to AM it doesn't matter. The cost to maintain AM is astronomical. FM is where the audienc...

Re: CFCO-FM 91.3 International Concurrence Granted
My guess would be to move 92.9 to 91.3 the only way for CFCO-FM to increase power. Blackburn may have plans to shut down AM 630, that could be in the works. You may want to look into 920 in Wingham that may be a similar situation. 920 might be filling for a FM application as well. It’s possible Blac...

Re: Super 70’s Radio
Oh wow, an ifart corporate playlist of The Carpenters, the Bee Gees, Terry Jacks and Gilbert O'Sullivan. Thanks but I think I'll go listen to cats fuck instead. Super 70's is not a iHeart station. It's carried on the IHeart app as many other stations that are not a product of iHeart. So go ahead an...

Re: Nav Nanwa exits as host of Windsor Morning on CBC Radio One, Windsor
Never heard of Nav Nanwa. Of course, I never listen to CBC Radio One. Doesn’t sound like I’m missing much. Considering your opinion on public broadcasting on this side of the border, your thoughts on Nav and CBC Radio One are hilarious. Considering my tax dollars don't go to CBC radio, I occasional...

Re: Two Transistor Radio
I remember back in the 60’s we had the two transistor pocket radio, if I can remember these of course were cheaper than the six or eight transistor radio. Does anyone know why these were manufactured? I had someone tell me it had to do to a tax or tariff issue that Japan had to pay for radios that ...

Re: Two Transistor Radio
I suspect that the two transistor radios were TRF, not superheterodyne. So they didn't need an oscillator, mixer, IF stages with amplification and transformers, just a tuned circuit and a diode. Just maybe an RF amplifier transistor to bring up the signal level of the ferrite lipstick (some had tel...
