Re: The Nine

I've never understood the 4am morning news shows. To me, 5am is about as early as you need. It's not like people need to tune in for sports or weather or traffic. It’s a 24 hour world. People get up for their jobs any time and need to know what is going on. Some of us leave for work by 4 in the mor...

Re: Thoughts on the Current State and Potential Future of Detroit Radio

Maybe 15 years ago the "death" of the print magazine was considered common knowledge; everything would be going digital. But have you seen the magazine selection lately in Barnes & Noble or Books-a-Million? There must be 1,000 titles. Many people still like to read physical books and magazines. How...

Re: Thoughts on the Current State and Potential Future of Detroit Radio

Other than for traffic and pro or college sports, when is the last time you turned on AM? Every day while shaving, in the car, in the kitchen, working in the garage, gardening, sometimes listening to far-away stations at night for fun. Last year the FCC estimated that there are still 47 million in ...

Re: Thoughts on the Current State and Potential Future of Detroit Radio

Other than for traffic and pro or college sports, when is the last time you turned on AM? People under 40 could care less about FM. Today, was listening to AM 580 and 910. I still had internet access for streaming but decided to use the radio for a while. I utilize both it depends on what my mood is.

Re: Thoughts on the Current State and Potential Future of Detroit Radio

So one AM station ranks higher than a 1.7 share in Detroit. When exactly do we call AM done? https://i.ibb.co/Tky9rQg/Screenshot-20240523-205054.png When no one wants to buy an AM property. When AM stops making money. When AM is no longer relevant. WJR is still making money despite the low ratings....

AM radio dies by 2028. FM dies by 2032.
How did you come to this conclusion? What are your findings that AM has 4 more years and FM 8? And yet new stations are still being built on FM. Just look at the number of construction permits that are being issued. I give AM and FM 20 - 30 more years.

Re: Catholic Priests continue to Rape Children

The Catholic Church is and has been a breeding ground for mainly Gay pedophiles praying on Children. It’s not just the Catholic Church it’s in all denominations. I believe it's people who warp faith more than it is individuals personal sexuality. What's most troubling with the Catholic Church is th...
