Re: WOOD TV goes dark during middle of Lions game
According to the "View Edit History" function on Facebook, WOODTV8 first reported the outage on their FB page at 4:32pm and didn't update the post again (that it was fixed) until almost 5pm. I just can't understand how it takes someone almost 1/2 hour in this day and age to fix a technical problem l...

Re: WOOD TV goes dark during middle of Lions game
Here's a hypothetical question for engineers and those in the know: why on earth won't WOOD-TV8 quit relying on some dodgy out-of-town amateur hour operation 300 miles away, and actually build their OWN master control hub instead? Keep things in-house, for better reliability and control....lord kno...

Re: WOOD TV goes dark during middle of Lions game
The engineers and management should not be complimented for finding a solution “as quick as they did”. That’s BS. If they had planned ahead and had a backup source to air network programming and communicated that with local master control ops, it literally would have taken seconds to switch over. N...

Re: recommendation wanted - BASIC cheap FM radio antenna for stereo receiver
This antenna might work in the attic. If not, it will work outside if it's high enough. It looks like the back of the receiver has a 75 ohm connection, so some coaxial cable and a 75 ohm to 300 ohm transformer will be needed. https://www.bamlog.com/fmdipole.htm Great, thanks. Do you have a link whe...

Re: WFUR 92.9 FM Christian radio - streaming online?
They might consider going online.... Their over-the-air signal footprint is now so much smaller than when they were on 102.9. Don't I know it! The only place I can ever get 92.9 FM is on my car radio. I'm currently struggling with how to listen to the station inside my house, since 3 different radi...

recommendation wanted - BASIC cheap FM radio antenna for stereo receiver
I'm trying to pull in a Grand Rapids FM station from my home north of Rockford, and not a single radio in my house can get the station clearly, without a bunch of static. My car radio does fine, but that's it. Can someone drop a link or recommend a brand/model # for a "bare wire" antenna, either ind...

WFUR 92.9 FM Christian radio - streaming online?
This is more of a hypothetical post, a "what if" because I doubt it'll ever happen. But for those who listen to this station, or know of any inside information, is it just $$ cost alone that's preventing 92.9 FM from streaming their broadcast online like most other radio stations these days? Or is i...

Re: WBMI 1055 Back on the Air
Their format certainly wasn't perfect - they played too much Madonna (her current stuff at the time), boy and girl band stuff, Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, Kid Rock, etc, but it was never enough to make me change the station. re: 98.5 WUPS -- sorry! I may have had something to do with that :) I worked t...

Re: G.R. radio retirement
Congratulations to Pat Deja, who retired on Sept. 1. from the WFUR-AM/FM air staff after 36 years of service. For many years he hosted a popular Sunday program called "Hymns By Request." I remember requesting a couple songs myself over a several month period, and both times he played them :) Great ...

Re: WTWS 92.1 The Twister Off-Air??
When some of this was getting moved around was during the time when they tried making WUPS a Mt. Pleasant radio station with studios and offices in Mt.Pleasant. I think it was still at the time the "main" studio was at the last strip center, but they actually operated from Mt. Pleasant for awhile. ...
