Re: Brad Sugden out at 12 to be chief in Lansing

Good luck Brad! But I don’t understand the new gig. You’ll be Chief Meteorologist for a Lansing station… but you won’t even live or work in the Lansing market? This seems like a new trend of working out of market. Although Grand Rapids is a great city.

Re: Mid-Michigan Now smokes ABC12 and WNEM coverage of downtown Holly Fire.

ABC12’s coverage was/is an embarrassment. The had live pics off the top of their 6pm newscast with very little information. And their website story has the downtown spelled “downton”. I didn’t see any coverage from WNEM, but since they have virtually no viewership from the southern tier of counties,...

Ripping off Tigers fans

Once again, when Sinclair has the opportunity to do something good, they f it up. Sinclair says it has developed an app to allow Tigers fans to watch games without a cable or satellite service. https://www.nexttv.com/news/batter-up-sinclair-bally-sports-plus-streaming-app-launch-june-23 It is chargi...

Re: Coverage of Jan. 6 Hearings

Byron Allen's attempted shakedown of McDonalds and GM was disgusting. They reason neither advertises on his obscure cable networks is because viewership is abysmally low. He tried playing the race card, which is a slap in the face to any African American who is a legitimate victim of racism. Comple...

Re: Coverage of Jan. 6 Hearings

The gap between #1 and #2 is widening. ABC12 is a shell of its former self ever since Allen Media bought it, and Denise is driving out good people in front and behind the camera

Re: Coverage of Jan. 6 Hearings

I’m an equal opportunity a-hole. I’ve criticized all three stations. WNEM’s just been the best of the bunch recently

Re: New Sports Director at 12

Podcast? Working out of his basement? Really you need to get your facts straight soundchaser!!! Ryan is doing some of the best sports reporting in the state. Probably because he doesn’t have to fill a nightly newscast with as many games from as many schools to meet some random GM/News Director/consu...

Re: New Sports Director at 12

Ryan’s able to report in his current job, right? You do the math. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Name someone else who knows the Flint market better than Ryan and would bring some credibility to ABC 12’s diminishing newscasts.

Re: New Sports Director at 12

Since the only people Slocum apparently pissed off were GM Pete Veto and News Director Jayne Hodak — both are no longer working with WJRT or Allen Media — I seriously doubt he couldn’t come back. I don’t think Ryan would want to come back since he’s doing great work with State Champs… but anything i...

Re: Coverage of Jan. 6 Hearings

Other than Byron Allen, does anyone watch The Weather Channel anymore? Can’t believe anyone in a TV forum actually wants to defend Fox 66’s actions. They make LOTS of bad decisions. Stop trying to defend Fox 66. It makes you look foolish. Plus, the bad quality and poor news judgment is kind of thei...

MasterB, I wouldn’t want to work in that hell hole. But thanks for your vote of confidence. Truth be told, a blind monkey could run it better than current management.

Re: Coverage of Jan. 6 Hearings

No Fox 66 won’t lose its license, but maybe they should. The FCC is a joke. They do very little enforcement. If they took their responsibility seriously, Sinclair would have lost its licenses years ago with the blatant violations that have occurred. Instead Sinclair laughs at the FCC, pays the fine,...

Re: Coverage of Jan. 6 Hearings

These hearings will be a complete snooze fest for prime time viewing. FOX was smart in providing optional programming for its affiliates. Why I hope ratings are a dud for the hearings as they should air in the morning/afternoon I find these hearings to be dull and boring why I don't watch them and ...
