Re: "We cannot play two females back-to-back"
Corporate anything is based on quarters... making that next quarterly report black is all that matters. What doing that might affect beyond is no longer concerning. Quarter Hours, that makes sense, and it's why you hear the same shitty songs six times a day on every format. Today's country is a joke...

Regarding WLCO.... https://publicfiles.fcc.gov/api/service/am/application/1813430.html This is Exhibit: STATION WLCO CEASED OPERATIONS ON DECEMBER 2, 2019 DUE TO A TRANSMISSION-SYSTEM FAILURE. STATION ENGINEERS ARE STILL DETERMINING WHETHER THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE TRANSMITTER OR SOMETHING IN THE ANT...

Re: Trials of restoring Heathkit DX-35
UPDATE on DX-35 At this point, there is something in this unit which just isn't right. Something changes after it's making moderate power (45watts in CW) into dummy load a few minutes, front panel meter pins and the fuse opens. I am tempted at this point to strip this thing down and make a simple al...

Re: Trials of restoring Heathkit DX-35
If I recall, it was having some problems with the plate transformer, it was up on woodblocks to isolate it from the cabinet because it has shorted internally. It would do low power but not high. I hope I have that right, it was like 1979. Edit to add: I would guess, if the engineer wasn't Jim McClus...

Re: So, where's the recession?
For most of the working class, the recession of 2008 has never ended. The economy is bad still for the "common folk". Only the higher classes are doing well. However, since the working stiffs and especially the poor are nothing more than expendable wallets, it really doesn't matter anyways.

Re: Brawl Mart
I hate Wal*mart. I don't go in there unless wifey has won a gift card. I've always marveled at 38 checkouts, and only 3 are open, no matter what season it is.

Re: Favorite Ad One-Liners
I've fallen, and I can't get up! I finally, after years of searching, found a bad copy of the stupid song someone made from this in the late 80's. Would love to find a batter copy. "We-we-we're sending help, we-we-we're sending help, we're sending, we're sending, we're sending help immediately, Mrs...

Re: Realistic DX 160
The radio we all lusted over like a hot 21 year old, and never had enough money to afford either. I have a speaker for one, incase I ever find one for sale at a hamfest below the original retail price. I see these on Ebay quite often. Nearly all of them will need new capacitors if they haven't been...
