Re: Really MeTV???

Am I the only one feeling deeply sorry for lido watching Gunsmoke reruns on Thanksgiving Day? I picture him alone, in front of his 27" Zenith tube TV eating a Swanson turkey dinner, drinking a Stroh's and rooting for Marshall Dillon to get a posse together. To some of us that sounds much more relax...

Re: Really MeTV???

Just buy the series DVD set. All 635 episodes for $173.41 on Amazon. A lot better quality than MeTV. The parade is over with now. :rollin :rollin :rollin Just was making a suggestion so he can spare himself from future anguish when it inevitably gets pre-empted again for one thing or another.

Re: Joe Gagnon The Appliance Doctor

Gagnon's first WCAR show was on Sept. 6, 1985. I found a 1988 article which says he already had 20 years of experience by then.

I assume she has the prerequisite conservative qualifications or learns quickly to affect them.

Re: Paul W. Smith moving to middays + other changes at WJR

I looked up Ann Thomas (who has been with WJR since 1982 according to her station bio) in old Free Press articles. In the Detroit Press Club Foundation's Michigan Excellence in Journalism competition (apparently discontinued forever after 2008) she won 1st place in radio reporting in 1986, "UAW-Chry...

Swirsky worked for WJR from 1994 to 1998 and I remember him hosting Sportswrap.

Re: WWJ 950

As I recall. when I475 in the Flint area was first built, it was named after Walter Ruether also. After a while, the names came down; I don't recall hearing anything why. In 1969 I-475 was designated the Buick Freeway and I-69 (then M-78) named the Chevrolet Freeway. In 1980 I-475 was renamed the U...

Re: WFDF 910 Is 100 Years Old 5-25-22 As A Commercial Station

I doubt if more than 1 or 2 of the staff or personalities are aware of or care about its Flint-period history. It's connected to its first 80 years of history only by its call letters and frequency.

Re: Which Detroit station will make the bold move back to the city??

Why would a station want to put their employees lives at risk by moving back to the city? That has no bearing on a newscast. It would not be a bold move, it would be a bad move. You realize that WDIV never left, right? I guess they've been putting their employees' lives at risk the whole time. It do...

Re: Newspaper Website Coverage of Schembechler/Anderson Story

Bo's name should be removed from all athletic facilities immediately and the statue needs to come down. Immediately upon accusation , rather than as the result of an investigation? Methinks, Mark, you would not wish to have sentence executed upon you without due process. We aren't talking about a l...

...Frankly, I think this is a smart move on the part of WJR getting a fresh start with Bongino.

Why would one think of Dan Bongino as a "fresh start"? He's full of the same tired conspiracy B.S. that Rush specialized in.
