Re: Whitmer is botching the vaccine rollout, Veto's Cameras

Nurses have used the patient's phone for that or their tablet. No one is saying that the family shouldn't be able to talk to the patient. With this, a nurse has to be present in the room during communication. Good luck with adding that extra layer of support and coordinating schedules, length of vi...

Re: The Impeachment

Agreed again, and not up for debate. What is up for debate is if he would be qualified to hold office again under the 14th Amendment (and thus the trial). I'm not smart enough to answer definitively one way or the other which is why I'm in favor of the process playing out and hoping it gets a hearin...

Re: The Impeachment

Agreed. In a country of precedents, this situation is VERY interesting to me. Setting the precedent that we just look the other way at the end of any Federal term is a dangerous one. We currently don’t have a way, beyond the impeachment process, to determine what’s considered a serious crime or what...

Re: The Impeachment

Definitely not. However, Trump was not a private citizen on January 6th. I think there is definitely room for debate on whether or not the Constitution speaks to this situation with Trump being on trial after leaving office. We get into 14th Amendment arguments and so forth with that discussion. The...

Re: The Impeachment

While admittedly 95% political in nature, you do have to admit that there is foundation for the inquiry via impeachment and trial. Thank goodness it's not every day that we see what happened on Jan 6 at the Capitol. The process in the Constitution was put in place for a reason -- to allow things lik...

Re: The Impeachment

Posting bail: legal (which doesn't need to be proven as it's ... ummm ... legal) It's not that hard. So posting bail isn't giving aid.... Got it. Not sure if you're being serious here or not. Someone that is accused of breaking the law has not been proven to be an enemy of the state. Even if the cr...

LOL, no

Incitement: illegal (which hasn't been proven one way or the other yet)
Posting bail: legal (which doesn't need to be proven as it's ... ummm ... legal)

It's not that hard.

Re: The Impeachment

Weak sauce.

She didn't illegally ask for bail to be waived or somehow try to get around it. Raising money and posting bail for someone is a perfectly legal activity.

Re: Moral Dilemma: Should I Turn This Guy In?

If this happened while you were both in elementary school in the 1960s, the only moral dilemma here is why you would even think of bringing up something like this in an attempt to embarrass him from something that happened when you were both kids. If you were both adults in the mid-1960s, that means...

Apolitical insider access to the COVID pandemic

This CBS interview with Dr. Birx should be must-see TV for anyone with a passion for learning about how and why things have happened the way they have in regards to the pandemic. It's long, but fascinating (at least to me). https://www.cbsnews.com/news/full-transcript-dr-deborah-birx-on-face-the-nat...

Re: The MAGA Party

After attracting the attention of extremists that wanted independence, that's where they ended up. Did Ron Paul really want his own playground?

When they reached detente with the Republican Party, it upset a lot of the original Tea Party supporters. Those that bailed became MAGA.

Re: The MAGA Party

Can't. That's the point. There is always too much power on the extremes to allow a centralist party of moderates from both sides to exist. When I say no one gets right I mean those people trying to establish a new independent party. They always fall victim to the machinery of a political system that...
