Considering the skeleton on air news crew that 25/66 currently has, how could they cut any more there?
Letterman had a top ten list about cuts at his network. One of them was the then-anchor sitting at a desk with a TV saying "Now let's watch the ABC news together."

Re: 25-66 impacted by Sinclair ransomware attack

I actually had a 25-66 manager claim the programming disruptions were “big deal”… that viewers would return when the ransomware is resolved “any day now”. My last OTA channel scan came up with 53 stations in my Genesee County area. It's like back in the day when Blockbuster was sure that streaming ...

IT guys: "The Titanium Grade Security is bulletproof. The NSA couldn't get through it. It costs more, but . .. "
Beancounters: "IT COSTS MORE?!?"

Re: WAQP-49 yet more new sub-channels coming soon

a fourth rate knock-off of HGTV, Food Network and Lifetime Basic cable, sure. Ditto the news on Newsy. OTA, not so much. There's no OTA all-news station, and the only real competition for Digi is PBS Create. The point is that these are free alternatives to cable. Don't like 'em? Block them from you...

Re: WAQP-49 yet more new sub-channels coming soon

Looks like 49.10 is going to be "Digi-tv" on September 27th. It's now listed as one of their markets: https://watchdigitv.com/markets Now up and running. 49-9 isn't yet, but the TV ID reports it as Newsy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsy Looks middle of the road, especially in comparison to the ...

Re: Critical Race Theory Town Hall

The current joke is that if your kid is studying CRT, congratulations. The only place it's being taught is in grad school or law school, where nearly all students are old enough to vote; presumably they're old enough to discern for themselves. It's one tool to understand why some laws are made. With...

I'm thinking ONE of them will be Rewind TV, which is beginning service on 9/1. https://rewindtv.com/ The other one may be ThisTv: https://thistv.com/
Commercial-laden, no doubt, like the others, but I like the fact of more free alternatives in an area where people are trying to get by on less.

Re: Out of Towners Club

You mean LOCAL news. Given that the market extends to Alpena, there's no "local" anymore.
And since Lapeer and Owosso are in different markets, we're more likely to get stories from 100 miles away instead of 15.
Unless they involve cannibalism.

Then there are those of us who just read the local newspaper
I do, and I subscribe, in hopes of the days when MLive's local edition has a larger staff than my old high school newspaper.
