Re: Must Haves

In Stephen King's novel Christine, one of the characters is reminiscing about his old car that he had bought when it was new. He says " The smell of a brand-new car. That's just about the finest smell in the world, 'cept maybe for pussy." Be careful it may not enjoy being traded in and be out for b...

Re: The Bias of Alito

Does Alito need to recuse himself from Trump hearings in front the Supreme Court? No. Is a Supreme Court Justice responsible for everything their spouse does? I can't believe anybody can excuse this action in any possible way. From a Supreme Court justice?!? I can’t believe anybody buys this stupid...

Re: 2024 Presidential Primary Polling Thread

I have no doubt Biden's handlers are looking for a way out (I'm sure they're still not pleased about him committing to it during his Howard Stern appearance), but Biden himself? I think he actually really does want to debate Trump. Even I have to admit that Trump's strength is more in a rally setti...

Re: Let's talk about the merits of the NY case against Trump

I posted last week about how the defense will probably seek a directed verdict. There is no way on earth that this judge grants that motion as the political fallout from such a decision would effectively end this judge's career. As I think about that possibility, I can't even begin to imagine the o...

Re: 2024 Presidential Primary Polling Thread

Read an article this morning where Trump is more or less demanding than Biden take a drug test before the debate. Sounds to me like he is looking for a way out. Not sure why but that is just the feeling I have My guess is that this is not a way to look for an out, but rather pre-building a line of ...

Re: Let's talk about the merits of the NY case against Trump

There is a strong possibility the defense will ask for a directed verdict once the prosecutor rests. If they don't get it my question is will Trump take the stand. He has said he will and wants to but I think it would be a mistake because he would not do well under cross. His lawyers would hide und...

Re: I-375 deconstruction is crony capitalism in action

As I recall, the original-original plan (late 1950s) was to have the 375 expressway connect to the US10 expressway (the Lodge) on Jefferson, as an expressway. That's a pretty stupid plan. It would have destroyed downtown. Actually... he might be right. What he's describing is the way the business s...

Re: Must Haves

What’s the rush to have a new car? 4 isn’t very old. Cars today have way more life in them than that. It's out of warranty now. And maybe I just like driving a new car. For years I drove old wrecks. After I was first able to buy my first new car, I like to stay in a new car. Maybe, after years of d...

Re: Must Haves

I don't think there's a new vehicle sold by any manufacturer these days in the US or Canada that doesn't have a/c and cruise control standard on the basest of base models. And if have to spend extra money on a package of stuff you don't want for satellite radio, just spend $100 or so and get one of...

If it’s in his name he’s responsible for whatever is displayed there and approves of such by default. When you g...

Re: Must Haves

When I lived up north, I never had AC in my cars and never felt the need for it. But living now in south west Ontario, where the summers are hotter and spending about 6 months a year in Florida, I wouldn't want to be without it. But south west Ontario is a radio desert. So I need satellite radio. C...

Re: Let's talk about the merits of the NY case against Trump

Trump said yesterday that ALL Haley voters will automatically vote for him. I, for one, won't and I know others who won't either. I think we end up with a tie leading to a recount and then who knows but a tie is my guess and that's all anyone can say right now. It is a guess. Is he planning on givi...

Re: Let's talk about the merits of the NY case against Trump

Matt - sounds to me like your tune has changed a bit. Just a few months ago you said that Trump had literally no chance of winning. I'm curious what has changed your opinion? RT - Here's the problem with your argument - the polling in 2020 ended up being correct. The polling average never put Trump...

Re: Must Haves

I have a base model GMC Acadia… it has cruise, satellite radio and AC. Everything else is basic. I believe the Acadia is also a big vehicle. Would I need a bus driver license to operate it? I suppose the base model Cadilac would also have all the features I want, but I just want an affordable, work...
