Re: NBC25/Fox66 forced to read promo

So you’re blaming the person who was fired for objecting to airing this crap... rather than the company’s decision to force local journalists to read political statements in the form of a news promo??? 101, Do you also blame victims of drunk drivers for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Th...

Battle of the Christmas set displays

I’m no Grinch and love Christmas as much as the next person... but 25-66 goes overboard each year with its set decorations. If a nicely decorated tree, a couple strand of lights and a poinsettias will do, WEYI feels the needs to buy out the entire greenhouse.

Re: Great addition to NBC25/FOX66

Yes, if you leave before your contract is up, the company goes after you for a percentage of your contract wages... even if you are getting out of the business or going to a market where you aren’t competing against the company (like Detroit). Then they enforce a non-disclosure agreement where you c...

NBC25/Fox66 forced to read promo

It’s the story that never dies... even though everyone on Pierson Road hopes it will go away and no one will notice. Even Sinclair’s golden boy/former FOX News anchor Eric Bolling says in the Washington Examiner (a traditionally conservative leaning newspaper) that local news “journalists” should no...

Re: Great addition to NBC25/FOX66

WEYI has lost more people this past year from forced retirements, layoffs, firings, non-contract renews, Moving on to bigger markets, spending more time with family — whatever you want to call it/“spin it” — than WJRT and WNEM combined. The reason is simple: cut costs to improve profit margins. They...

Re: Mid-Michigan Now

Employee appreciation can come in multiple forms... some may like grilled cheese sandwiches (at least that’s what we’re told). Personally, I prefer being paid a living wage, being given the time and support to do quality work, etc. But maybe that’s just me...

Re: Veronica Meadows

Unfortunately not. There are several people at 25-66 who drink the Kool Aid daily and are oblivious to the problems with morale. Which is why you get things like grilled cheese day.

Re: Great addition to NBC25/FOX66

Yes, WEYI and WPBN were both owned by Barrington Broadcasting... and as a result suffered the same lack of investment and direction... before Big Brother/Sinclair swooped on in to cut jobs and put on national pro-Trump editorials.

Veronica Meadows

Big congrats to Veronica Meadows for landing a reporting role at Fox 2 in Detroit. When she left 25-66, management said she was making the move to get out of the business and pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer. Nope. Wrong. Seems all she wanted to do was get away from Sinclair, the GM, the News D...

Re: Adios Boris

Local news should have no bias — either from the left or the right. Local journalism is dead because those in charge choose to side with partisan philosophies or sell out the news department to local advertisers as opposed to insisting on upholding ethical and responsible reporting.

Would love to know how NBC/Fox 66 plans to provide significant investigative reporting when they continue to cut staff. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/sinclair-broadcast-group-ends-political-commentary-1261884?utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Sinclair+Ends+Political+Commentary&ut...

Here’s the “spin” memo sent to stations... notice how Scott Livingston has to work very hard not to admit that these commentaries were a mistake! Re: Adios Boris

Not sure about your obsession with Bill Harris... since this post has nothing to do with him. No one at NBC 25 and Fox 66 wanted to run these commentaries by Boris and Ameshia. They were forced upon our viewers by Sinclair’s VP of “News” Scott Livingston. Reporters complained to management who basic...

Sinclair finally realizes that their horribly produced commentaries were a H*** mistake: https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/sinclair-drops-boris-epshteyn-other-political-analysts-n1099796 Now they can save the reported $300,000 salary they were paying Boris. However with Chairman David S...
