Re: Beyonce and Country Radio
Stick in a fork in it, it's done. "Texas Hold 'Em" has fallen out of the Top 50 in country airplay. It remains #1 on Hot Country Songs. Meanwhile, it's also losing steam at CHR, Hot AC and Rhythmic and is also out of the Top 50 at Urban radio. Looks like not many stations put it in power, it's burne...

Re: MOAR COUNTRY!!
Those are both legitimate pop crossover hits. Every AC station in the nation plays them. WRVF isn't doing anything unusual. Country music has been crossing over to AC formats for as long as format radio has existed. In the '70s it was Kenny Rogers and Crystal Gayle. In the '80s it was Dolly Parton. ...

Re: March PPM's
Hot 107.5 is targeting a demo that doesn't use radio much, if ever. That demo streams. Note that of the three hip-hop stations in the market, the highest-rated is the throwback station. Channel 955 plays a healthy dose of rhythmic throwbacks as well. Mix 92.3 has the Urban Adult heritage and Kiss ha...

WNEM 5 also had cable carriage in Alpena when they were an NBC affiliate.
The southern part of WBKB's coverage area undoubtedly has more connection to Tri-Cities media than to Traverse City. Tawas City could care less about Manistee or Harbor Springs.

Retro 104.7
Old news I guess, but I noticed today when I was in the Flint area that WMRP-LP 104.7 has dumped its Christian Country format and is now "Retro 104.7" with 60s-80s Oldies. Songs/artists heard included The Drifters, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie, Martha and the Vandellas and Eddie Rabbitt. According ...

Re: Beyonce and Country Radio
Keep in mind also how long it takes for songs to build at the country format these days. Even songs by established stars spend months climbing the the airplay chart before they peak. Just because it isn't Top 10 yet isn't a reason to label it a flop. That said, I do agree that calling it the most po...

Re: KHAR Anchorage flips BACK to Adult Standards
My suspicions were correct. I got the stream to work on TuneIn and they are indeed using America's Best Music. The playlist matches ABM station WMST in Kentucky.

KHAR Anchorage flips BACK to Adult Standards
11 years after 590 KHAR dropped Standards for CBS Sports Radio, it's done a 180. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/266848/a-gold-rush-for-khar-anchorage/ I can't confirm since the stream appears to not be working at the moment, but based on the description of the station not having DJs and the imag...

Re: Seattle gets two new country music stations on the same day!!! (No joke.)
Counting previous iterations, such as K-Plus, Z101.5, and KVI-FM, 101.5 had featured some kind of pop music or Top 40/CHR format since 1976! And curiously, the format right before KVI-FM had been... Country, as KETO-FM. (Which, per Wiki, launched 50 years ago this month.)

Re: Catholic Radio in West Michigan
I really wish Catholic radio offered more in terms of variety than "blah blah blah blah Abortion is evil blah blah blah blah Evil LGBTQ+ agenda blah blah blah blah Pope Francis is too woke" etc. It just comes off as a slightly "gentler" version of typical right-wing talk radio, and for me it gets ti...

R.I.P. 104.5 WQKT
After being sold to the operators of Columbus CCM station 104.9 The River along with Classic Hits 960 WKVX, the Wooster station will become 104.5 The River on May 1st. Downside: Another heritage station taken over by a Jesuscaster. Upside: It's a regional operator and not EMF. Also they are retainin...

Re: John Mellencamp is a self-righteous asshat
I'm more disappointed that he used a slur than that he behaved like a two-year-old. Self-indulgent behavior and rudeness is just par for the course with rock stars.

109.1? There isn't a radio I know of that can tune that high. At least not in this country.

Re: Global Sarnia-Oil Springs
Comcast in Saline carried only WTVS and WFUM/WCMZ when I lived there, but WGTE was the easiest to get OTA. I didn't have any Toledo stations on cable, but they came in OTA for me better than Detroit. Charter here in Whitmore Lake carried WKAR (and WLNS) along with WTVS when I first moved here. Both ...

Re: Global Sarnia-Oil Springs
Comcast dropped WCMU in Flint despite WCMU still being assigned to the Flint/Tri-Cities market. However, both dishes and Spectrum still carry WCMU in the entire Flint DMA. In fact, WCMU is still carried on Spectrum systems in northern Oakland County and Lapeer County. Speaking of WCMU, I'm a little...
