Their RDS PTY still reads "Adult Hits." They may as well keep it as is.

Re: Most Unusual Tracks From Mainstream Top 40 Artists
From The Osmonds "Crazy Horses" 1972 album, the other 45 single "Hold Her Tight" another great song!! Back in the Spring of 1979, The Osmonds (minus Donny) released the album "Steppin' Out" on Mercury Records. I was listening on WTAC (600 AM in Flint) & DJ Fred "Boogie" Bryan played the title track...

Re: The Verve, Bittersweet Symphony on WRIF?
I agree with MW... it's a FAULT 98-7 "in between the Billie Eilish" type of song, not an active rock type of song. Honestly it fits better in between the Starship/Billy Joel WNIC crossover on WCSX than it does on WRIF. I think the last time I heard "Bitter Sweet Symphony" was either on Ann Arbor's 1...

Re: Toledo airchecks from 1998.
No, this was just before they added Delilah, when their evening show was still known as "Love Notes" and still had a local host. I don't remember exactly when they picked up Delilah, but it was probably 1998-99. Toledo stations did have a nice playlist back in the 90s. I remember Star 105.5 used to...

Re: Sensual songs
"Love Won't Let Me Wait" by Major Harris "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye "I'll Make Love to You" by Boyz II Men "You're Makin' Me High" by Toni Braxton "Between the Sheets" by The Isley Brothers Toronto's AM 740 has "Midnight Blue" with a big selection of sensual and just plain raunchy songs, stretc...

Re: WGPR HD2
WGPR-HD2 appears to be leased out to R.J. Watkins, owner of 88.1 WHPR in Highland Park. If I'm not mistaken, it is a simulcast of Watkins' station in Charlotte Amalie, USVI (WVIE 107.3 FM). I can't get WVIE's stream to load so I'm not certain if the playlists match up, and I can't get WHPR here. WVI...

Re: Toledo airchecks from 1998.
I moved to Saline that summer and was excited to have the opportunity to hear Toledo radio stations clearly around the clock, as I had already been DXing Kiss, River and Tower from Macomb County. To me they had better music variety than their Detroit counterparts. I loved The River back then, before...

Re: Toledo airchecks from 1998.
Wow! Those are some good memories, especially that Kim Carson aircheck. Hard to believe there were two stations playing "Quiet Storm" type music in Toledo in the 90s. The other was 105.5 I think that show was called "Love Notes" with Scott Gregory. Then after he left, it was hosted by a woman, but ...

And they have no FM translator. I really don't see the point.

Classic country?
Do they know something we don't and are they trying to beat 106.7 (and maybe a simulcast on 96.7) to the punch?

Re: Most Annoying Commercials
- Any commercial with any kind of choreographed Broadway- or boy band-style song and/or dance routine (unless it's actually for a Broadway show). No need for your spot to resemble an 'N Sync video or the Broadway cast of Mamma Mia if you're just trying to sell a McDonald's chicken sandwich. I rememb...

The left has politicized meteorology to the point the models selected by these ham-and-eggers are based on Goreist ideas and not what they should have learned in class. To hell with them! I'll do better with my Farmer's Almanac and a look out the window. I own salt, shovels, and sweaters so whateve...

Re: Classic Country
I thought there were several small AM stations carrying classic country. Have they flipped formats? If you can pick up 660 WMIC out of the Thumb, they play classic country every weekday morning, or did last I checked. CFCO and WYCD have classics shows on Sunday mornings and WDRQ airs the syndicated...

Re: 106.5 Toledo
Cumulus is holding on to the "Ticket" intellectual property and call letters. Might we be seeing 98.3 flip soon? Or even 105.5? I can't imagine Nash Icon is making tons of money trying to be a Monroe County station, especially when their signal in Monroe proper is a rimshot. The classic country crow...
