Re: We are wasting our time

The world has broken down into two factions, neither of which can even agree on one set of facts. The "election was stolen" crowd will never believe that their guy lost and never concede, just like their leader. The "he was a Russian Double Agent" crowd will always believe that the 2016 election wa...

Re: I just don't get it

I certainly agree that people can understand whether they are transgender at the age of 10 or 11, and frankly, I believe most transgender people begin to experience dysphoria much sooner. Sadly, while there are a lot of children who genuinely experience gender dysphoria, I believe that there are se...

Re: I just don't get it

I'd like to see a Psych Major, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist, work through the most basic derivations in advanced (or even some intermediate) UNDERGRADUATE Physics courses. The above is PSYCHOBABBLE. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/psychobabble There are just as many physicists who lack ...

Re: I just don't get it

When you boil it all down, that is a mental health issue. This isn't just my opinion btw, but one from many mental heath professionals. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/conditions/gender-dysphoria It's worth noting that it's a fallacy to treat science as the answer rather than a process to which ...

Re: Fault 98.7 cannot even get its music log right...

This is easily the worst executed alternative radio station I've ever heard. Aside from the terrible music selection, there is way too much talk on this station in the afternoon/evenings. The conversation among the hosts seemed forced and like they're stuck in a broken elevator trying to pass time. ...

Interesting. I wonder where their office/labs are located in town. What's interesting is that Yandex isn't even a car company. They're literally the Russian equivalent of Google.

Re: Ben Bailey cannot forecast worth a shit!!!

jadednihilist -- you don't happen to be an operational meteorologist by any chance, do you? I rarely see people delve into the actual science and overall work that goes into making the models "tick", so to speak. Nice to see that for a change. I'm not in the field -- as much as I am a weather enthu...

Re: GM eliminates the need for Gas by 2035

So what happened to self-driving cars? A year ago this new upcoming technology was all the rage. Now you barely hear about it any more. Saw one in Ann Arbor this evening. MCity car or Toyota? We're definitely a long way away from self-driving cars from being the standard still, unless you try ridin...

Re: GM eliminates the need for Gas by 2035

Automatics are a money pit. I have never worn out a manual transmission or a clutch. Future cars will have no transmission. Agreed automatics are a money pit and that manual transmission is a much better option for longevity. Not having a transmission is one of the selling point for the electric ve...

Re: GM eliminates the need for Gas by 2035

Electric cars will be eventually cheap and throw-away. I highly doubt that. If anything the batteries will be cheap enough to easily replace every 15 years instead of 7. The technology gets better and better by the year. Just like your cell phone and laptop right? Battery power is certainly improvi...

Re: GM eliminates the need for Gas by 2035

They will, but at the expense of serviceability and planned obsolesce. I can tell you that all the auto vendors are missing the boat on their design. Elon Musk is trying to push for a million miles out of battery usage. The current average lifetime for a battery is about 200,000 miles, which is on ...
